After the rude accusation by the old lady "sourpuss", a sleepless night for Stef was followed by a note delivered the following day by the old lady's housekeeper who found the beautiful shell under a hassock, in fine shape for having been batted to the floor and to its hiding place by one fluffy "magical" cat.

Mom wanted to take the note next door and demand an apology for falsely accusing Stef.  But, Dad said, "No, the housekeeper might be in trouble for being so kind as to report the solved mystery.  The old 'sourpuss' knows she was wrong and should apologize and it is her burden to rectify the wrong."  She has her treasure and maybe she'll keep it in a safer place where her spoiled kitty won't be putting its paws on it again.

An important lesson for Stef: sometimes older people get it wrong and stand your ground when you are falsely accused.  Take comfort in knowing you are innocent and keep calm and carry on.
