Serotonin is a natural mood stabilizer. You should be more concentrated, mentally stable, happier, and calmer when your serotonin levels are normal. Since higher serotonin levels increase feelings of well-being, trust, and affiliation, some scholars refer to serotonin as the "happiness chemical."
