Spencer found himself spending the remainder of his evening with Gia.

A little after 1am Spencer glanced at his watch. Gia noticed.

"Wanna head out?" She jerked her head towards the door.

"Huh?" He heard what she said but questioned as a reflex.

"I'm kind of over this party."

"Oh... um yeah sure."

With his agreement Gia sent a message on her phone.

"Shall we?" she asked. They both walked out. Spencer offered his hands to Gia and held her hand down the steps. He noticed before but he took her appearance in at that moment. She wore an off the shoulder forest green dress with a slit on one side.

"You look... erm." He stuttered.

Gia's face translated confusion and concern. "It's the colour, right?" Her frown evident.

"No, no. You look beautiful."

"Oh. Thank you. You know I contemplated turning up in my Pyjamas."

"Ha. Really?"

"Yeahhhhh." She laughed. Just then the rest of the group walked out. "Wow you guys actually came out quicker than I anticipated after that message. Shall we walk?" Gia suggested. A series of nods transpired across the group. "You good with that?" This time she directly asked Spencer.

"Yes."

"Alrighty then."

The group began the twenty-minute walk back to their apartment. They walked together but were broken off in small groups. At the back of the group Spencer and Gia walked side by side.

"I have to admit something," Spencer announced.

"And what's that."

"I didn't realise that you were Dr Gia Daris," he admitted, his lips pursing in embarrassment.

"You know what. I figured as much when you said tell Daris she is working you too hard." She giggled.

"Yeah, umm sorry about that."

"You don't need to apologise Spencer. It's honestly not a big deal at all. I like just being Gia with you." Gia wrapped her arms tighter around herself. Spencer shrugged off his tuxedo jacket.

"Nuh uh," she tried to stop him. "You are going to get cold."

"You are already cold. Plus, my shirt is long sleeved."

"Mate. I'm from England it's always cold there."

"Yes, and normally you would dress accordingly, so I'm going to have to insist. It's the gentlemanly thing to do. My mother would faint if she found out that I didn't."

Gia narrowed her eyes. "Fine, but only because I'm concerned about your mum's health." She stood still, granting him permission to drape his jacket over her shoulders. "Thank you."

"No problem."

"Do you miss your mum?" His smile faded. "I mean you're from Vegas. You work in Virginia and right now you're in Boston. So you can't see her much. Do you miss her?" Spencer didn't answer. All that could be heard between them was the sound of their feet hitting the ground. "You don't have to answer that," she added.

"No." He rasped. He cleared his throat. "No." he repeated his voice sounding normal now. "I miss her. I was hesitant because I feel guilty." Gia didn't say a word and patiently waited for Spencer to dictate where the conversation would lead. "I should try and speak to her more. We were always so close when I was younger. She would read to me."
