"Where are we going?" Spencer asked for the twelfth time Gia had dragged him out of the apartment.

"So impatient Spence." She shook her head. "Luckily we are here." She pointed to the ice cream shop.

"Ice cream?" He quipped.

"They way to my heart," she laughed.

"I thought pie was the way to your heart." He stopped her, by placing a hand on her upper arm.

"Anything with sugar. By the way. I'm still waiting on that pie." She leaned in closer, tapping his chest with her finger.

"I thought you had forgotten about that."

"I would never forget that. How do you think I am?" She scoffed.

"What flavour?"

"What?" she asked in bewilderment.

"Ice cream," he pointed out.

"Oh right." She stepped into the shop, smiling at the girl behind the counter. Her fingers ran over the glass as she made her decision. "ummmm... one scoop of rocky road and one of the movie theatre mix, please." She looked towards Spencer. "What do you want?"

"Chocolate with sprinkles." The server nodded and announcing the total. Spencer pulled out his wallet. "I got it." He winked, taking Gia aback.

They left the shop armed with their dessert.

"What was that back their?"

"What?" Spencer feigned innocence.

"I got it," she mimicked. Then licked her spoon. "I'm just teasing you Spence. How's your piano going?"

"You remembered. It's not going too bad." He replied contently.

"I'm glad. I'd love to hear it one day."

As they are walking someone calls out Gia's name.

She turns and greets them. "Hi."

"Hey. I'm glad I bumped into you actually. I was wondering if I could get you dinner sometime?" The man was so focused on trying to ask Gia out that he disregarded Spencer's presence.

"Dinner for what?" She asked naively.

"Oh no reason," they replied nervously.

"That's really not necessary."

"What I mean is... I would like to take you on a date?" He answered quickly now.

"OH." The ball finally dropped for Gia. "Oh... That is so kind of you to ask, but I can't sorry." She clutched her ice cream tensely.

"No worries. I had to try," the man shrugged, before wishing her a goodnight and walking away.

"Well, that was embarrassing," she confessed.

"You have no idea the impact you have on people. Do you?" The question from spencer was rhetorical.

"What are you talking about?"

"Seriously?" he questioned.

"What?"

"That guy just randomly came up to you and asked you out."

"No, he didn't," she laughed out loud clutching her stomach. "I know him."

"Still," he insisted.

"What are you getting at?" She asked.

"People are drawn to you. Can't you see it. You make people feel comfortable. One conversation with you and a person relive their entire life and plan the next twenty years with you in it."

Gia's jaw drops. "Only twenty years," she joked, once she has composed herself. Spencer stuttered. "I'm being sarcastic Spencer." She sucked on her spoon. "Do I make you feel like that?" Gia enquired as she investigated the contents of her ice cream. Spencer stopped in his tracks. Gia noticed and stopped too. She looked around wandering why they stopped.

"Yes," he breathed.

"Why?" She mused. "There is nothing special about me." She carried in walking.

"Yes, there is," he shouted after her. He sped her to catch up to her. He caught he arm and stopped her again. He turned her towards him. He notices the ice cream on the corner of her mouth. His eye is drawn to it.

"Whatever Spencer." She dismisses. "You know this ice cream has little pretzel pieces in it." She is interrupted when Spencer thumb dragged across the corner of her mouth, whipping the ice cream.

"You are beautiful."

"What," she choked.

"You are special. You are smart. You are funny. You can make people smile. You understand people. You make people feel at ease. You have a beautiful heart. You are beautiful inside and out."

"Okay, okay. No need to boost my ego anymore, Dr Reid. Shall we head back?"
