Starlight

Star light shining bright,

Oh Lord I summon your presence here tonight.

I was about to wish on a star then you crossed my mind,

And I reckoned that this would be the night,

That my wish would be granted before daylight.

As I lay my head to rest, I pray,

That these will be the last few breaths I take. 

I pray you will send death my way,

And give my soul a chance to escape,

Escape all the shackles and chains,

And free my mind from the pain.

In the Lord's name I pray.
