Elvira

The warmth of the fur seeped into my skin as I cuddled into the large wolf that now lay beside me. The mean voices had finally calmed down and the only one that remained now was the nice girl. She was soothing my mind and constantly checking on me to make sure that I was calm and feeling okay. I liked her and wanted her to stay but I could tell that she was getting tired.

"Mate is with us now, we are okay, we are safe. Mateo would never let anything happen to us you know that. There is no need to worry about anything else right now besides staying calm and comfortable. Mate is watching us so we can just relax and calm." Her voice was like a purr and gently coaxed my mind and body into submission.

I ran my fingers through the soft coat of fur that was surrounding my body. Since I had stopped thrashing the wolf had moved so that I was cocooned inside a nest made by his body and tail. It was probably the safest I had felt in the last couple of days though I couldn't pin down the reason why.

The wolf smelled like Mateo, the same pine and lavender scent filled the air around us. His eyes were the same piercing blue eyes as the man I had learned was not going to hurt me. For some reason, I couldn't help but feel that this wolf was Mateo, and considering he was suddenly no longer in the room it was fairly easy to determine that I was probably right.

"Elvira," The voice was hesitant as if worried that any noise would cause me to have another breakdown. I couldn't blame them though because for all I knew it might.

I turned my head slightly still laying on the wolf and letting my fingertips tangle in the cloud that was his fur. It was Kasmie who had addressed me and she had moved so that she was only a few feet away from me. She was studying my face intently looking for any signs of distress or fear but she found none. I was okay, I was safe, this wolf would protect me just like the voice had told me.

"Honey, I know that must have been really scary. I am not sure what happened but I am glad that you are feeling better now. Are you okay being around that wolf? I know for a fact that wolf loves you very much and would never hurt you, but I want to make sure that you are feeling okay." I nodded my head turning my eyes to study the different colors that were hiding in the wolf coat so many different colors that I didn't even know the names of.

"I am glad that you are feeling good with the wolf Elvira. You said Mateo's name earlier when you looked at the wolf, do you know who that wolf is sweetheart?" This time from Niriol I once again nodded my head, but before I could answer the voice inside my head did.

"Mate, this is mate and he will keep us safe. We do not have to worry as long as we are with mate." The words sounded strained yet held a power that I had never heard before. I had never been able to say something with that kind of power but I knew that the new voice was a good thing and I trusted her.

Shock ran across the faces of almost everyone in the whole room. They seemed stunned by my words, I wondered if they could tell that I hadn't been the one to say them? Brexton and Karthan both took a few steps towards me and the wolf growled at them. I tensed at first but after realizing it wasn't aimed at me I went back to basking in the calm warmth that surrounded me.

"Luca we aren't going to hurt her, she has just gone through an episode and we need to take care of her." Brexton's words were calm and commanding but the growls continued to flow out of the wolf's chest. The way they caused his body to vibrate was soothing and I found my eyelids closing a little as I relaxed even further. The two took another step closer and Mateo moved.

Suddenly I was no longer curled into his side but underneath him. Mateo stood above me covering my whole body with his larger wolf form. His front legs were bent allowing me to still have access to his fur though I knew that this was merely a fighting stance and he hadn't realized that it allowed me to do so. It didn't stop me from continuing to pet him which seemed to catch him off guard for a moment as if he hadn't realized I would be able to do so either. He peered down at me, his furry face turning sideways, one ear turning as and the look of wonder on his face was too much for me and I couldn't help but laugh.
