Everyone except Ash had woken up and were getting ready to eat breakfast and finally reach their destination. Gary was the first one to wake up and was ready to leave. The girls and Clemont woke up after him and prepared everything.
"Ashy-boy still sleeping I see" Gary said as he looked at Ash's tent
"I'll go wake him up" Serena said as she stood from her chair and made her way towards Ash's tent
Serena entered his tent and saw him sleeping peacefully
'Oh he looks so cute!!!' Serena thought while having a big smile
Serena sat down net to Ash and was trying to wake him
"Hey Ashy wake up" Serena whispered as she put her hand on his head while playing with his hair
Ash began to wake up and saw Serena in front of him
"Hey Sere..." Ash said in a low tone as he sat up and stretched his arms
"Good morning Ashy, we have to go eat now" Serena whispered to Ash
"I'm guessing everyone is up already"
"Yep" Serena said giggling
They both locked eyes and felt the same feeling they had the night before and they wanted to lean towards each other. They couldn't say a word and they couldn't explain what was happening. But before anything could happen, Serena snapped out of it and began to blush furiously.
"We should go" Serena whispered looking down while still having a red face from her blush
"y-eah" Ash stuttered
Serena left Ash's tent while covering her face and sat down with everyone
"Is Ash up?" Clemont asked as Serena sat down
"He is" Serena said in a low nervous tone
Everyone noticed that she was blushing but they all decided not to question her because she would be too flustered to even talk. Ash then came out from his tent and went towards them
"Hey Ash what happened in there with you two?" Bonnie asked in a teasing tone
"What do you mean?" Ash responded with a confused expression
Serena started to blush more and she was hiding her face
"C'mon now Bonnie we don't want to see Serena explode" Gary said as he was starting to laugh
Ash noticed Serena's condition and he looked at her for a second before he had to look away so that he doesn't go through that as well
"So Ashy-boy you haven't shown me all of your pokémon yet" Gary said turning to Ash
"Oh right everyone come out!" Ash said as he threw out all of his pokeballs
All of the pokémon he caught in the Kalos region came out

"Wow so you do have very powerful pokémon... and they are almost all fully evolved!" Gary exclaimed
"Yeah they are" Ash said
"You might actually not make a fool of yourself like you did in Unova..." Gary said with a mischievous grin
"Oh no" Ash said nervously
Everyone else was confused
"Please Gary they think I'm cool please have mercy" Ash whispered to Gary begging for mercy
"Oh fine Ashy-boy I will not tell your friends how much of an idiot you looked like in Unova" Gary responded very loudly which made everyone giggle
Serena walked towards Ash after she had her moment
"Hey we all have moments right?" Serena told Ash when she got to him
"Thank you Sere"
They both looked at each other with smiles
"I would say the same if I didn't know of the stuff he did..." Gary interrupted
"GARY" Ash yelled
Everyone except for Ash was having a good time from his reactions
"Ok everyone stop messing with Ash" Serena commanded with a serious tone
They all packed everything and then began to walk again
"Getting help from your girlfriend I see" Gary whispered to Ash
"Shut up" Ash responded in an angry tone
"You didn't deny it!"
Ash ignored Gary and looked at Serena walking in front of them
'I wish that were true' Ash thought
The gang walked for 2 hours straight and had finally reached their destination
"Finally we are here!" Bonnie exclaimed carrying an exhausted Clemont
"Let's go find some stones!" Ash said with excitement
All 5 of them then walked into the entrance of a cave and began looking everywhere seeing all the Noibats in the ceiling
"Everyone have your pokémon ready just in case we need to defend ourselves" Gary warned the group
Serena held to her Braixen's pokeball shaking at the thought of something scary coming towards them
"Scared?" Ash whispered to Serena
"A little..."
"Don't worry I'll protect you!" Ash whispered to her to make her feel better
They started holding hands and began to walk with the group. Gary was leading in front with his Blastoise at the ready, Clemont and Bonnie where in the middle and Ash was with Serena in the back.
"Thank you..." Serena whispered to Ash
"No problem Sere... I'd do anything to make you feel safe"
"That is adorable Ashy"
They both looked at each other and were drawn to the other. Those moments between them were always there but they were a lot more common since their heart to heart back when they talked in the rain.
"Hey lovebirds don't stay behind talking to each other we've got to stick together!" Gary yelled playfully at them from the front
Ash and Serena laughed at Gary's attitude and got closer to the group. They kept walking in the cave until they found the cave splitting into 2 different directions
This is a shorter chapter so I'm sorry I just wanted to get this out of the way for the good parts so yea my apologies. I just got the vaccine and I'm kind of tired so I don't know if people are going to enjoy this chapter as much as the others. I am getting to the good part of this arc which is a conversation that made me start this arc in the first place so yea. Until then, goodbye!
