Chapter 13

No one could sleep this night. Heeseung was disturbed by the cause of all things that just happened. Sunghoon was also in his thoughts. Jay went to his usual room whenever he stayed in their house. And Sunoo, sitting in the corner of the room, holding his knees, sobbing and fearing of everything, praying to God to have some mercy on him. The night wasn't easy for any of them. All were in trauma.

·MORNING·

JAY'S POV:

I woke up because of the knock on the door from one of the servants. I guess I slept too much. I did my morning routine and went to the dining table, where no other person was showing up. I did my breakfast while scrolling through phone. Did he eat something? A sudden concern came to my mind. I should ask him. As I quickly finished my breakfast and went to the way of his room. I knocked on the door, but no one answered it. I did it again but couldn't hear a single footstep. Feeling worried, I slowly opened the door, noticing the boy sitting on the floor, sleeping with knees close to his chest by the arms, resting his face on them. Again, that view of yesterday came in front of my eyes that made me feel sorry for him even more. I went close to him. The feeling of guilt rushed through me when I observed his puffy eyes as if he cried all night nonstop. There were bruises on his wrists too. I knew who had done this but was late to stop him. Just when I was watching him, his eyes slowly opened and,

"You're awake." I said with a small smile. But he got frightened by my presence and backed away, hitting back himself to the wall.

"P-please don't come c-close-... I'm n-not like that.." He pleaded, trying to back away more.

"Don't be scared. I'm Jay! Sunghoon's friend? I'm not here to hurt you. Heeseung Hyung told me to stay with you, to take care of you?" I possibly tried to ensure him.

"His friend?" He asked frighteningly.

"Ahm... Yeah... But don't think I'm here to harm you! I was thinking... if you're hungry?" I know why he's behaving like that. Sunghoon messed everything up.

"Have you eaten something?" He shook his head with no sign.

"OK! So freshen up first. I'll tell the servants to prepare breakfast for you." I said before heading towards the door. "And one more thing, Heeseung Hyung will be coming here in 30 minutes. To talk to you." As I exited the room, leaving him alone.

END OF JAY'S POV.

TIMESKIP:

Both Jay and Heeseung were sitting in front of Sunoo. The latter was just looking at the ground, feeling nervous.

"So... How did you come here? I want to know everything from the start." Heeseung asked. That made Sunoo look at him.

And he started,

"I-i was sent here to work as a household personal assistant. M-my Uncle's friend... H-he told us about this job. As my Uncle lost his job, I agreed to them..." His last words seemed more like regret to him. A tear dropped from his eye as he wiped it away immediately. Jay and Heeseung were watching him.

"W-when I came here. Everything was good until... I overheard him while he was talking to my Uncle. I thought that e-escaping from here might help me. B-but I didn't know that they had already t-taken my price... I c-cried, b-begged in front of him...but he... h-he didn't-" Sunoo stopped talking since he couldn't stop his tears anymore. The pain he felt was too much to hide. Who can imagine getting betrayed by your loved ones? Heeseung looked at Jay, confused whether to console him or let him cry for this last time.
