"This is the last time I will call you"

The words rushed out of Ni-ki's mouth at once, having built pressure over for him in the two days he didn't call her. Even so, the words were barely there as a whisper and the girl still heard it nonetheless.

The weight of his choice had affected his spirits down so much that he couldn't stay longer in their call. He's barely even there inside the car he shared with Heeseung and Jake, and all the way to their dorm, he'd been quiet.

Too quiet that they'd taken into giving his space for a while, knowing that he'll come to them if he wants to tall.

"I know you chose the second choice..", he heard Y/N whisper at the last second just before he hung up on her.

He couldn't bear anymore to hear more questions from her, having listened to his mother who just had his best interest to worry about. For her, Ni-ki's been the happiest in Enhypen and that she knew he is right where he needed to be.

She'd seen it all.

The way Ni-ki incessantly pressured them into saying yes for him to go in another country where he'll be on his own. The way their whole family was devastated to watch him be evil-edited in the survival show called I-land and be proven talented in every performances, only to not leave the Ground in every rounds.

The way he called them before the elimination and broke them from hearing so much anguish in his voice in fear of not reaching Part 2.

The way they're repeatedly disappointed at the votes he'd gotten. The way they all cheered at the producer's choice causing for Ni-ki to get in the Top 3 because of Dive Into You stage.

And the way they all cried when he was finally called to be an official member of Enhypen.

But what made Ni-ki's mother realized on how his own friends was really important, during the days of her son needing to be away from his hyungs, Ni-ki told her one one thing.

He told her how scary it was to be alone, not see any of them in a day and how he's not really enjoying it if they're not around.

So when he started talking about this girl he met through a wrong call, it was cute at first.

Not until she can hear the hints of total infatuation in his stories and decided to do something before it turn to a thing that might as well be a hindrance to his future.

She wanted him to be happy, really but for her, Ni-ki falling in love in such a young age was kind of dangerous.

Especially to someone who has that job where everybody will follow his every moves.

Where only one mistake and it could be the end of his career.

She made it clear to Ni-ki on what mattered more.

In the end, he chose what he thinks is right for him.

It comes with a fall out, though and that is to lost the girl in the process.
