Jaxon

I can't believe I spent my entire life without this girl. If I knew being with her felt this good, I would've dropped everything and came crawling to her. When she opens her mouth to me, it's as if my world gets spun on its axis. She's absolutely gorgeous, funny, incredibly smart, and she's kissing me. Every nerve on my body feels weakened by her contact. But also alive at the same time.

Kissing her always feels like it's the first time. My hand grips her waist as my mouth tries to memorize hers. She slowly moves her lips from mine, and I search her eyes for regret...but she quickly moves her lips along my jawline and her hands pull at my hair. My eyes roll back in pleasure, and I drop my head for a moment. "Luna," I say breathlessly. I don't know why I said her name, I definitely don't want her to respond. That would mean she'd have to stop planting kisses on my neck.

She kisses me so hard that her teeth graze my skin and I flip her so that I'm on top of her. She looks startled at first, but then she's right back to kissing me. The way she arches her back against me almost makes me lose my balance, but I respond accordingly. I wrap a hand under her back and arch her even more.

I intend to break the contact for only a moment to take my shirt off, but the second it comes off she props herself up with an arm and stares at me.

"What?" I ask worriedly.

"I've seen you without a shirt before..." Luna trails off, her eyes never leaving my stomach, and her fingers reach out to me.

"And...?"

She lets her fingers outline my abs and I'm suddenly happy that Coach made me do those extra push-ups at practice this afternoon. "And I didn't think it was possible for someone to become even more attractive."

A surge of relief fills me, and I quirk an eyebrow up. "You found me attractive that day in my room, huh? When you were getting blood all over my carpet."

She stops playing with my stomach and rolls her eyes at me. "I'd be stupid not to. And I wasn't bleeding that bad."

"Oh yeah?" A fat, stupid grin covers my face. "When did you start your little crush on me?" I tease.

"Please, if anything, you're the one crushing on me."

I look into the blue depths of her eyes and know that I am without a doubt consumed by her. "You're not wrong."

She starts to argue but then she realizes what I said, and a blush finds its way to her cheeks. I can't help but kiss her again.

Breathing isn't even a necessity anymore, the only thing I need is her. Luna's everything and more.

A couple of hours later, Luna's sitting between my legs with a book in her hands. Her head leans on my chest and she giggles every once in a while. I let myself feel every movement of hers and try to glue in my mind how it feels to be this close to her. I don't want to ever lose this feeling. I play with her hair, letting my hand get tangled in it.

"When did you fall for me?" She asks suddenly. "I mean...I don't want to assume that you've fallen for me or anything—"

"I've always found you attractive and you've always had a weird effect on me that no one ever has." I grin and draw little circles on her arm.

I remember my first day back and Corey freakin' Stone decided to punch me, Luna came running out to me. She wanted to make sure I was okay. I thought it was the cutest thing—it was a fleeting thought, but it did come. Then the next day at school, I pretended not to know her, and she flipped out and said my name and it made me feel all kinds of weird stuff.

"Do you remember the day I woke up with you in my arms?" I ask.

She smirks. "You knew you liked me when I was on top of you? Classy."

"No," I shake my head, though she's not facing me. "It was before that. You were sleeping and I had just finished a problem. I went to tell you about it, but then I saw you clutching a shirt." My brother's shirt. "You looked innocent and beautiful. I think that's the moment I fell for you. Before any of the physical stuff."

"Wow," She turns her head slightly. "That was deep."

"Whatever." I roll my eyes. "When did you know you were obsessed with me?" I tease.

"Obsessed?" She snorts and elbows me lightly in the stomach. "I think..." She trails off and it's quiet for a minute or two before she continues, "I honestly think you're the most annoying person ever...but you're easy on the eyes so I keep you around."

I scoff. "I take back what I said before."

She giggles and plays with my hand. "Okay, seriously, I think...um...the day I went to your football practice."

"Oh?"

"I saw you earlier during first period. You were waving to Paxton and your friends, but I was an idiot and thought you were waving to me, so I waved back. I then noticed your friends waving behind me. It wasn't my brightest moment. But that's when I knew I had horrible taste in men."

I laugh. "Luna?"

"You can't laugh. It was embarrassing."

"Luna, look at me." She turns to me, and I move a piece of hair out of her face. "I went to see you. My friends were the idiots."

"Really?"

I nod quickly. "Really."

"You saved my life, Jaxon," She whispers. "I thought you should know that. I wasn't truly living until I met you. I was a shadow of the person I was—the person I want to be again." My stomach erupts at her words. "And I mean," She turns and settles back against me. Her body flush against mine. "I guess you're right. You've made me feel weird things before that, but I always tried to push it down. You know, brother's enemy and all."

I laugh. For some reason my anger with her brother always seems to dissolve when I'm with Luna. Everything dissolves when I'm with her. She takes up my entire mind, not letting anything else in. A blessing in and of itself.

I could stay like this forever.
