"I am so incredibly touched right now!" Yang Haru's laughter echoed menacingly through the shattered surroundings. Her predatory gaze fixed on the figure at the top of the entrance stairs, her eyes gleaming with twisted delight.

"Jujutsu sorcerers are sacrificing themselves for a fellow sorcerer!"

Her smile stretched wide, arms raised in a mocking embrace as the sun's rays momentarily illuminated her. "Affection! Admiration! The world I long for is here before my eyes!"

EJ stood frozen, his entire body trembling as he took in the devastation before him. The once-pristine grounds lay in ruin, the aftermath of Haru's brutal display. Unconscious students were strewn across the debris, their forms battered and broken, some missing limbs hidden beneath the fallen rocks. The ground was soaked in their crimson blood.

His breath came in heavy gasps, his grip on his cursed spear tightening. A red haze clouded his vision as he stared at the woman who seemed so satisfied with her carnage. His anger boiled over, and he channeled all of it into the cursed energy within him.

With a deafening shout, he cried out, "Soohe! Come out!"

Haru's smile vanished in an instant, and she instinctively took a trembling step back, her eyes widening in fear as she watched Kang Soohe, the Special-Grade Cursed Apparition, fully manifest behind EJ. The colossal, skeletal curse hovered menacingly, its empty sockets fixed on the woman.

The entire area trembled as the ground shook beneath them. EJ lunged forward, determined to bring down the woman who had caused so much destruction. Haru hastily summoned a swarm of baby curses to shield herself before leaping away, putting as much distance between herself and the vengeful sorcerer as possible.

She watched in tense anticipation as EJ stood his ground atop the towering roof, a fierce resolve etched onto his face. Kang Soohe loomed behind him, its eerie gaze fixated on the grotesque amalgamation of curses Haru had created.

"Quantity before quality," Haru whispered to herself, her smirk widening as she assessed the situation. Her dark, calculating eyes remained fixed on the determined sorcerer before her as she smiles by thinking of her own plans. "What's your move, Queen of Curses?"

With a flick of her fingers, Haru sent her curses hurtling toward EJ, each deformed apparition surging forward with twisted intent. EJ, however, leaped into the air with astounding agility, wielding his cursed spear like a whirlwind to skewer every grotesque creature sent his way.

As he descended in free fall, Kang Soohe, the massive skeletal curse, followed his lead, lunging after him to protect its summoner. Together, they landed gracefully on one of the dormitory rooftops.

Soohe released a dark orb onto the ground, where K, Taki, and Nicholas lay sprawled. Quick and urgent whispers passed between EJ and his cursed companion before EJ knelt beside his fallen friends. With remarkable swiftness, he enacted the reverse curse technique, channeling his energy to heal his comrades.

As EJ worked his magic, Haru observed the scene, her fear replaced by a begrudging admiration for the young sorcerer's strength and resolve. She couldn't help but smile at the powerful boy who stood before her.

A thunderous crash echoed through the air as EJ unleashed a ferocious attack, slashing through Haru's small army of curses. A powerful gust of wind swept through the area, causing Haru's dress to billow around her, her hair securely tied to prevent it from hindering her movements.

But Haru's attention soon shifted to Kang Soohe, the ever-evolving skeleton curse. She remembered the cursed spirit's tragic backstory - how it had once been a young girl before a fateful accident claimed her life. Unbeknownst to EJ, he had unwittingly cursed her, binding her spirit to him like an eternal servant. Kang Soohe's power was unparalleled, constantly evolving and growing stronger.

Haru's ambition had crystallized over the past decade: she aimed to claim Kang Soohe for herself, to bend the curse to her will just as she had done with countless others. With the ancient spirit at her side, she believed she could bring about the end of the non-sorcerers' world.

"She's magnificent!" Haru called out, her taunting words designed to provoke a reaction from EJ.

"You'll never get her!" EJ retorted, his anger seething beneath the surface. "I'll see you dead before you ever lay your hands on her!"

Deep, shaky breaths escaped Riki as he stood amidst the aftermath of his brutal onslaught. The lifeless bodies of curses and Haru's summoned servants lay scattered around him, forming a chilling tableau of destruction. He wiped the sweat from his brow and ran trembling fingers through his disheveled hair, feeling the weight of his actions settle upon him.

His vision blurred, and he blinked back tears that threatened to escape. The stinging pain in his eyes was a constant reminder of the power he had harnessed—a power he had tried to suppress for so long. It had been unleashed today, in a desperate bid to stop Haru's impending catastrophe.

As he stood there, gasping for breath, Riki's thoughts were consumed by Haru. Her face, her laughter, the memories of their shared past haunted him. He knew that, despite his efforts, he couldn't prevent the inevitable. The impending event loomed over him like a specter, and after careful consideration, he had come to a painful realization.

In the quiet aftermath of the battle, he closed his shining blue eyes, trying to steel himself for what lay ahead. He thought of her, her smile, her laughter, her warmth. He knew the path he had to tread now, the path that would give them both a chance at happiness.

With his heart pounding with newfound determination, Riki made a decision:

He would be with Haru, no matter the cost.
