Chapter Three: Unwanted Memories

Kara's POV

 BANG! Was the noise that I made when I hit the floor. Before I could look up to see who I had ran into. I was being lifted up into the air like a magical unicorn.  "Hey Kara" Austin slurred, before I could reply he yanked me over onto his shoulder.

"We're going swimmmmmiiiinnnngggg" he sang. Why do all of my brothers friends have some obsession with annoying me? Wait what? SWIMMING????? FUGG NO. Using all of my strength I started hitting me but that just encouraged him to walk faster. While I was hitting I could hear him shouting for people to move. 

The harsh cold air hit me telling me that we were outside, full panic mode was on.  

"STOP AUSTIN STOP" I pleaded. He just laughed and brought me down from his shoulders into his arms.  "3" he shouted and people joined him. I screamed again as loud as I could. 

"2" they chanted. I shut my eyes as the flashbacks started. Drowning.  

"One" everyone shouted, if I wasn't so terrified I would of laughed at the way I must of looked flying into the pool I mean with my bushy hair face mask and onsie that would cause some great hits on youtube.

My heart hammered against my chest as soon as I harshly hit the pool. I couldn't move, the memories took away any sense. I couldn't.. I deserved this. I tried to move my arms, but the water seemed to do everything in it's power to drag me further down. Shutting my eyes, I realised I wasn't going to be saved. Not this time, no one cares. I tried to think of the good times but the memories were taking over, leaving me defenceless. I felt my eyes began to shut, this would be my death. Dying at a pool party with no first kiss. Alone like always.

The flashbacks, they were getting worse.No this can't happen. Using all my courage I screamed "Grandaaaaaad" but nothing came back and no grandad came.

Suddenly just as I shut my eyes, I felt two strong arms wrap around me, the light I can see the light, it was shining like the sun. My eyes struggled to open but I could see a tiny bit and infront of me stood Danny (who looked very upset and worried at the same time). Next to him was a very panicked Colby who was looking at me closely. Why didn't they notice that I opened my eyes?

Everything was quiet until Danny suddenly stood up and menacly ran towards Colby and Darcy. 

"You douchebag, your f*cking sister was drowning and you just stood there and I don't even want to start with you Darcy you actually laughed at her!" Danny shouted he must of been angry as Darcy seem to shrink backa dn the corwd took small yet big steps back. Suddenly, I started choking and Danny came running towards me. I can't breathe. I started gasping and choking uncontrollably. My eyes shut as I feel my pulse slow down. My eyes shut as I stopped breathing. This is it Kara.

Without warning Danny crashed his lips onto mine giving me mouth to mouth. Even though this wasn't a kiss, my lips tingled and sparks erupted, as breath rushed back into me. Suddenly I could breathe but the kiss didn't stop. Pulling away with one gasping breath, I looked to see Ellis rush to my side pushing away a blushing Danny. I tryed to push myself up but I fell straight back down. Once again, Danny rushed to my side and helped me up. Using his chest as a pillow, I rested my head against it. I was tired okay!

"Sleepyyy" I whined like a 4 year old hitting him.

"No don't go to sleep, stay with me Kara please" he begged.

"Fine" I moaned but I couldn't help but let my eyes blink for longer than they should.

He took me inside and placed my weak body onto the couch. I could see that most of the people had left by now due to Ellis screaming at them to get out and infront of me stood Colby, Darcy, Danny, Ellis, Austin and a few other people that I didn't recognise. A loud noise wailed outside the house, I snuggled into Danny's arms as he picked me up.  

"Where we going?" I mumbled. He smiled down at me,

"the ambulance daisy" I couldn't help but smile at the use of the old nickname.

"Danny let go of her, you're my boyfriend, Austin can take her" Darcy said with a jealous tone here I was lying in Dannys arms after a near death experience and all she cared about was Danny holding me. God I bet she wished I just died in that pool.

"You actually think I would let that dumbass near her, he's the one that chucked her into the pool" he replied angrily glaring at Austin.

"Dude give her to me she isn't your sister" Colby butted in.

"And you are? You didn't save her I did, you just let her drown" Danny defended

Tears began rolling down my face. Danny face paled when he saw my tears.  

"Shit" he cursed and hushed soft sweet words into my ear. Before we moved any further I gestured for Danny to stop." Colby didn't save me" I croaked not able to speak. Embarrassment and sadness washed over Colby's face and he started to say "Kara I'm sorry I..."

"Danny please take me away from here" I interrupted. Listening to me, Danny started to walk out the door and towards the ambulance. "They are just going check you, ok daisy!"  

I nodded in response as two paramedics jogged to my side and took me into to the ambulance. I looked over to Danny hoping he would come with me but instead Ellis came to my side smiling at me.

"How you feeling now" she asked.

"Meh." I answered

She laughed at me and sat down as the vehicle started to move slowly.
