Chapt 3: The Bus Ride

So there you were, standing at the entrance of the creepy woods that surrounded your town with your little brother, waiting for a bus to come pick you up to take you to some camp.

"(Y/n), I don't understand" Leo said tugging at your shirt, "why are we here?"

You looked down at Leo, he had a really timid look on his face. You gave him a reasuring smile and ruffled his hair.

"Don't be scared Leo" you said with a up beat voice, "we got excepted into a summer camp."

"A summer camp?" He said tilting his head, "we're going to a summer camp?"

"That's right, you'll have lots of fun and make lots of friends!"

"Really?!" He asked, his timid face turning into a excited face. "That does sound like a lot of fun!"

"It does doesn't it" you responded with a smile.

Leo nodded his head and smiled, but then he looked confused again.

"Um...I have one more question" he said looking back up at you again.

"Yes?" You asked.

"Why did we have to come out here so late at night?" He asked, "couldn't we have left this morning, after we had breakfast?"

"Well...I...um" you studdered, "I just wanted to get here super early, the letter never said what time we had to be here by."

You couldn't tell Leo that you wanted to leave before your father woke up. If you had waited to leave in the morning, your father never would have let you leave.

"Oh... okay!" He said happily then sitting down on the cerb.

You sat down next him. Leo was digging through his backpack, he looked like he was looking for something. You looked behind you at the forest. It looked creepier than usual, it sent shivers down your spine.

"I found it!" Leo randomly yelled out.

You looked at him and your eyes widened. Leo had brought out his 3DS!

"Hey! You brought your DS!" You said with excitement in your voice, "what game are playing?"

"I'm playing the remake of Majora's Mask that just came out!" he answered happily, "I'm half way done with it, I can't wait to see the ending!"

"That's so cool!" you said looking over his shoulder, watching him play. "Maybe when your done you can let me try playing it."

"Of course I'd let you play!"

BEEP BEEP

Your head jerked up at the sound. There was a bus heading your way, but this wasn't a normal looking bus. There was mold growing on it, half of the paint was scraped off, and one of the head lights was broken. Let's just say it looked extremely run down and it looked like it would break down any moment.

You and Leo scrambled up from the ground, backing away from the side off the rode. The bus pulled to a stop right in front of you and the doors opened, making a really annoying screeching sound.

You took Leo's hand in yours and slowly made your way to the bus doors. You climbed the first two steps before you stopped in your tracks at what you saw.

The man driving the bus looked like something you've never seen before. His skin was completely white and his smile and eyes were completely black, as if he was wearing a mask, but he wasn't. He was also wearing a black top hat and a polka-dot suit.

"Why hello there children" the colorful man chirped, leaning his closer to you and your brother. "Are you two ready to head to camp?"

"Um...yes" you said leaning a bit away from the man.

"That's what I thought!" He yelled happily, "can I see your letters."

"Of c-course" you studdered, stuffing your shaking hand in your hoodie pocket and pulling out the letters before quickly handing them to the man.

"Thank you very much!" He chirped.

The colorful man opened the letters and read them. When he was done, he stuffed them in his pocket and faced you once more.

"So, your names are Leo and (y/n), am I right?" He asked.

"That's right" you said quietly and nodding your head.

"Lovely names!" He yelled throwing his hands up in the air, "my name is Splendorman, but you can call me Splendy!"

"O-ok, it's nice to meet Splendy!" you said smiling, gaining more confidence.

"The same to you!" He responded shaking your hand.

When Splendor was done talking to you and asking Leo some questions, he sent you inside the bus. You walked through the aisle of the bus and sat down on one of the seats on the left side of the bus. Leo took the window seat while you sat near the aisle.

You looked behind you to see lots of other kids. There were two girls sitting on the seat behind the seat next to yours. A little girl sitting by herself sitting in the front, she looked like she was at least six or five.

"What is she doing here all by herself?" You couldn't help but think.

You continued to look around. You saw a boy in the very back of the bus with his hood up, he was wearing pretty much all black. There was also this blonde messy haired boy running around the bus making people laugh. There were still a lot more kids, but these were the ones who stood out the most to you.

For about 5 minutes, you watched Leo play his video games while also looking out the window. You hadn't noticed, until then, that Splendy had driven into the forest and you were driving on a road you've never seen before.

"Hey there!"

You were snapped out of your thoughts when you heard someone speak. You turned you head to see one of the girls that was sitting in the seat behind the seat that was next to you. She had dark skin and short brown hair. She was also wearing a fuzzy purple jacket, skinny jeans, and black combat boots.

"I saw you get on the bus, what's your name?" She asked.

"It's (y/n), (y/n) (l/n)" you answered, "and this is my little brother Leo."

When Leo heard someone say his name, he immediately paused the game and looked at you and the girl.

"Are you talking about me?" He asked.

You and the girl laughed at this.

"My name's Noel" the girl said extending her arm for you to shake.

You shook her hand. "It's nice to meet you!"

Noel sat down in the bus seat next to you and began to talk about random stuff. You looked at the girl she was sitting next before, who was sleeping.

"So how do you feel about this whole camp thing?" Noel randomly asked.

"Actually, I think it's really weird and kinda...you know...scary" you answered.

"Why would you think it's scary?" Noel asked.

"Well...to tell you the truth...when I got home after getting the letter, I was visited by this boy wearing goggles and a mask" you told Noel, "when the boy left through the window, I ran over to the window to see him holding the head of a body that he chopped off, then he ran off, telling me this whole camp thing wasn't a prank."

" whoa" Noel gasped with wide eyes.

"Yeah..." you sighed, "I was visited by a murderer."

"OKAY CHILDREN!!!!"

You and Noel jumped and looked at the front of the bus to see Splendy standing up. You haven't even noticed the bus had stopped.

"We have finally reached our destination!!!" He yelled in a sing song voice, "make sure when you get off the bus stay close to me and don't do anything stupid!!!"

With that he hopped off the bus and all the kids started to get off.

"Come on (y/n)!" Noel said jumping out of her seat and hurrying to the exit.

You nudged Leo's shoulder and told him you were here. He turned off his game and you two headed out of the bus. Not knowing what was going to happen next.
