Tessa gave Ryan a questioning look as he continued to look at me. I had nothing to say because of all people I expected to see tonight he and Justin were at the bottom of my list even after Za. Tessa was the first to say anything, "What are you doing here?"

Ryan finally turned his head away from me, "I'm here with - No, but wait what is Nadia doing here?"

I finally worked up the balls to say something to him although I doubt it's the answer he wanted, "I just came by to say hi to Tessa and Kylie, I was actually just leaving."

Tessa sighed and grabbed my arm, "Nadia don't, it's just Ryan I wanna see you. Kylie wants to see you, hell he wants to see you. And I need to talk to you."

I sighed while shaking my head because this was too overwhelming to comprehend and I looked at Ryan who actually looked happy to see me. To say that I didn't miss him would have been a lie, I actually really liked Ryan and even Za, "Hey Ry."

He quickly hugged me and smiled, "Hey, missed you."

"Why are you in New York, Ryan?" Kylie asked him again, by the looks of it her or Tessa weren't expecting his presence.

"I'm here with Jay and Hailey, she came to surprise Kendall since she knows she's gonna be up here for awhile with the shows and stuff." Ryan's words didn't process to Tessa or Kylie but they most definitely registered with me.

"Tessa," I gave her a disapproving look that was not at all meant for her but the situation, "I need to go home."

Tessa pushed her hair out of her face and sighed, "I know, shit. Come on."

I quickly said goodbye to Kylie and Ryan who were both as confused as ever and who wouldn't be? I was here for all of ten minutes and already had to go. I followed Tessa right back out the doors that we had entered through and out the lobby doors. Not much had changed since I had first arrived.

"I'm getting you an Uber now, but I need to tell you some shit." I nodded although she was looking down at her phone. There was more of a chill to the air now that the sun was completely gone and it caused goosebumps on my arms and legs.

Tessa finished getting the uber and looked at me, "They weren't supposed to be here. I'm sorry." I nodded for her to continue because I understood, "Have you talked to him at all?" Him being Justin.

"Tessa, what do you think? Hell no. I haven't talked to him since I left." I crunched my forehead, wrapping my arms around myself.

"I just wanted to ask, he hasn't really been hanging out with any of us for awhile so I don't really know what the fuck is going on with him. I've been hanging out with Ryan though and Justin started texting me." She stopped to scroll through her phone flashing me some messages.

They were all from Justin, the first one saying: Have you talked to Nadia?

My heart grew a little heavy and I couldn't tell if it was because I was scared or what but Tessa kept going, "Ryan said that he's been asking about you but there's some other stuff," Her eyes traveled behind me, "Your Uber's here. Can I stop by tomorrow? You said you're off right"

I sighed and thought about our conversation yesterday, I did tell her I was off tomorrow, "Yeah."

"Can I come over with Kylie?" The Uber parked behind us and I nodded before the meter could run too long.

"Fine, I'll text you." She nodded before I got into the Uber and made my way back home. Too much had just happened in too little time for me to want to go to bed yet but I laid my head against the back of the seat anyway.

Once we pulled up outside of the apartment I slowly got out, heading into the bar. Unsurprisingly, it was only 10:15 so Dani was still here along with Ty. I took a seat at the bar looking around for Dani who was no where to be seen.

It took only seconds for Ty to make his way to me, "Didn't you just leave?"

I ignored his question, "Where's Dani?" It was prime business time for the bar, meaning that it was packed with twenty something year olds that two years ago I would probably be one of. It also meant that Dani should be up front watching over everything.

Ty cleaned up the beer that had over spilled while he answered, "In the back , Joy's got her doin' inventory."

I furrowed my brows while making my way to the door to the back room, "I just took inventory this morning we shouldn't need to do it again for at least two weeks, if that? Why's she got her doing inventory on a Thursday night?"

Although Joy was nice, nice enough to let us live in the apartment with low rent she was strict when it came to the bar. Her dad was the owner and had left her in charge when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Ty shrugged and handed the man in front of him the beer, I made my way to the back room where it was the most peaceful. Danielle's hair was up in a messy bun, unusual for work, and she was writing numbers onto the clipboard in front of her.

"Why are you doing inventory?" She didn't stop or even look up to answer my question.

"Carson was here when my shift started and told me I needed to check his numbers because apparently you were one number off on the Seagrams that no one drinks." She shook her head and I rolled my eyes, "Here's my thing like he come's in right after us to check our numbers, I don't get paid to take inventory all night when the bar is fucking packed. You were one number off, maybe he should come in and run the bar for the night then."

I wanted to be irritated with Carson but he did things like this constantly so I was used to it. Carson was Joy's brother and even though I would like to think he was jealous of his sister he was just an ass, "He just wants something to complain about. My bad, want me to do this while you go out there?"

"No, you know someone will open their mouth and we'll get yelled at. It's cool, how's it going out there?" She sighed.

"It's a little hectic but it's getting done. I'm gonna go upstairs though, see you when you get off." I started to walk up the back stairs but was stopped.

"Wait, what are you doing home already?" She looked up for a split second to look at the clock on the wall.

"I'll tell you when you get off." I waved bye and headed upstairs and as I came to the door to the apartment I could hear cries from the other side. The cries weren't as high pitched so I assumed they were coming from Jayce and when I made my way back to my room my suspicions were confirmed.

I walked Maddie out before cradling Jayce in my arms as we rocked in the chair in the corner of the room. As soon as I did his cries stopped and his arms hugged around my neck, "Shh, baby it's time to go to bed. Aunt Tessa is coming to visit tomorrow."

Although she wasn't around enough for him to recognize her, he still knew her as Aunt Tessa and that made me happy. Laying him in my arms I ran a finger down his face, his eyes were closed as he fell back asleep and when I got to his chin he smiled.

He was seriously so precious and made me feel so much better about anything that was going on right now.
