Chapter 12: Old Potions
-Bex p.o.v.-Like Uncle Charlus had explained to me, my room was under reconstruction. And so were all three guest rooms. I guess they thought that a moment when I was gone would be the best time to redecorate bedrooms.
I shrugged, "whatever, I'll just sleep on the couch tonight." It was no problem, I could sleep just about anywhere, so why not on a couch for a couple of nights.
"Oh no," Aunt Eleanor shook her head firmly. "Not happening. You can stay in Sirius' room."
I scoffed, "I'm not forcing Sirius to sleep on the couch."
"Don't be ridiculous dear, we'll conjure a bed for Sirius in James' room. It'll be fine." Aunt Eleanor shrugged off my contention with her own answer.
"Well why can't I sleep in James' room? Why do I have to steal Sirius' room from him?" I raised an eyebrow with a small frown.
She shook her head, "you are a young lady, you can't be sleeping in the same room as a boy for multiple nights. It's fine for one night or when you children are so tired you just fall asleep piled in a bed. But I will not permit you sleeping in a room with boys for multiple days and nights. Furthermore, you wouldn't want to room with James."
"What's that suppose to mean?" James interjected, lifting his head from the pan of brownies he had been giving all of his attention.
"We all know what she means, son," Uncle Charlus chuckled. "Besides, Sirius won't mind, will you?"
Everyone turned to look at Sirius. He shook his head, "no, it's fine. I room with James on a regular basis. I'll be able to handle a week in his room. You can have my room, Gorgeous."
"And that's the end of it," Aunt Eleanor clapped her hands with a smile before I could argue anymore. "Get ready for bed, children, it's getting late."
"I'm taking these with me," James announced, grabbing the pan of brownies and marching out of the room.
Mr. Potter rolled his eyes with a chuckle, watching after his son. Mrs. Potter turned to Sirius, "will you be a dear and take Bex to your room? I don't think she knows where it is."
And she was right. I had only ever stayed in James room, or the guest room that had permanently become mine. Never had I entered Sirius' room. And I had never had any reason to, or even thought about it. It was strange knowing Sirius didn't room with James, that's what I had always thought.
But now that I knew Sirius had a specific room here, I couldn't help but feel anxious about it. What would it look like? Anything on the walls? Clothing on the floor? This was a whole knew situation. One I wasn't prepared for.
Wrong. I was very wrong. It was just like any other boy's room.
Sirius opened the door for me and held it open like a gentleman, allowing me to enter first. I stepped forward, looking around the room curiously.
"Sorry about the mess," Sirius rubbed the back of his neck. "Wait a moment, will you, I'll clean up real quick." Sirius quickly started around the room, tidying up the space.
I took that opportunity to glance around. Muggle band posters hung on the wall, a calendar of half naked muggle girls was placed by a desk cluttered with motorbike manuals. A few articles of clothing lay on the floor and his bed was made rather messily.
When he finished, he stood tall, just behind me. He glanced over my shoulder, watching me flip through the guide on fixing a bike. "You know," he started, reaching over me and flipping to a certain page. "This is what my bike looks like. I could take you on a ride sometime, Jeanette's a real beauty."
