Wings of an Angel ||niall horan||

Chapter 8

"Your boss seems nice." Niall said after Margie left to go talk to some of her other guest. 

I pressed the beer to my lips and took a sip, "Yeah. She's pretty great. Thank you for helping Kenny."

He smiled, "It is an honor, he is a very special kid."

My eyes flew over to the bounce house, "Yeah he is." 

Niall smiled at me. "Why are you staring at me? It's somewhat strange." I said. 

"I like to look at you. I think you are beautiful." I blushed at his words. "You look even more ravishing when you're pink."

That made me blush even harder. 

I heard little kids start screaming, Margie ran towards me, "Nora, it's Kenny." My heart stopped. 

I dropped my ale, and took off towards the bounce house, Niall on my heels.  No this couldn't be happening. I made it over to the bounce house. "That kid is bleeding!" Some little boy wailed. 

Kenny walked over towards me, blood covered his shirt. "Mummy, I don't know what 'appened." Tears soaked his face. I bent down, I cupped his face, looking into his eyes. I know coughing up blood was a side effect. 

"Nora?" Margie said. I pulled Kenny close, all the other parents watched me with worry. "He's alright." I assured everyone. 

"Can we go home?" Kenny asked. 

I picked him up, holding him close and stood up, "I'm so sorry Marg."

"Nora, it's fine. Just make sure he is feeling better." I nodded, I turned to see Niall, his voice pale. 

"I'm sorry. Can you take me home?"

Once we pulled up to the house, Niall followed me inside with Kenny's car seat. "Where do you want this?" Niall asked. 

"Over there is fine. I am sorry-" "Nora, it's okay." 

I sighed, "I guess I'll talk to you later."

"NO!" Kenny wailed as he wiped his face with a baby wipe I gave him. "He has to stay!"

"Kenneth." I looked down at him. 

He looked over at Niall, "Please stay. I'm fine, mummy even said so."

Niall looked at me, and back at him, "I'd love to."

Kenny smiled and ran over and hugged his legs. "Thank you." 

Niall bent down and smiled, "No problem, little man."

"Kenny. Let's go get you cleaned up." I said. Kenny ran over to me, "Okay, hurry mum! I want to watch Cat In The Hat!" 

"Why don't you go to the bathroom and wait for me?" I said. He nodded and took off. 

Niall stood up, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, are you?" he nodded, "I hope it isn't a problem I'm staying."

"No, there isn't but there is something I need to tell you and-"

"MUM!" Kenny yelled. "Go. I'll wait out here."

I nodded, "Make yourself at home. Feel free to eat anything you find and turn on the TV."

"Alright. Thanks Nora."

I made a small smile and walked away. Before I went into the bathroom, I stopped. "Dear God, thank you so much for sparing us, this time. I will tell him the truth. I swear. Amen."
