Ada's POV

I swiftly drove my Porsche through the traffic. "Wow that is your house? What happened to your old one? Your Parents won a million dollar or what?" I just chuckled driving down the driveway. "No, my Parents don't life here to be honest But I'll explain that later, come on I want you to meet Sarah and my siblings." I got out of the car. "Ada, you do realise you are an only child?" She walks next to me to the door of Sarah's mansion. "Not anymore." Now she's completely confused. "Sarah? I'm home." I yelled and she came out of her home office. "Finally, Ada. Haven't I told just this morning to text me when you go out?" I hugged her. "Sarah it's not like anything ever happened, right?" I always came back. I don't even know why you worry so much. I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I don't fight, I just go out with girls." She let go of me. "Right, it's just I'm a controlling freak, I just like to know where my babies are. So now, who is this beautiful girl?" she looked past me at Jenna. "Oh yeah, that's Jenna, we used to be best friends till sophomore year. She actually goes to your school now." "Ah...I remember. Jenna Jardine, right? The girl with the two moms?" "Yeah, guess that'd be me. Nice to meet you again Mrs. Knight." She shook her hand. "We'll go out to the garden, catching up on all the things we missed." "Sure, I'll start making diner soon. You're staying for diner?" "I'd love to." I pulled Jenna away from Sarah out of the back door. We sat down on the back steps. "So, who's going to start?" Jenna asked looking down at her feet. "I'd say you start, since your part of the story happened before mine." She nodded slightly. "Okay so around the end of December our sophomore year Isabel and I started dating, that's the part you know about. Everything was fine in the beginning. Isabel stopped sleeping around, she was nice, supportive, she really was the cute, perfect girlfriend. 'Till one day she saw us together. I haven't told her that you are my best friend or more like big brother. She thought I cheated on her with you. I tried explaining it but she didn't listen. Isabel changed completely. At first, she just screamed at me, called me things like "bitch" or "whore", I tried explaining it to her, again and again. But every time she found out I meet you or I talked to some guy she accused me of sleeping with them. And then, you remember that Party we went to? I was the 21st of April that year. I was totally frustrated with the situation but I didn't want to tell you, because I loved Isabel and I was so sure you would tell me to break up with her and that you'd beat her to death if she ever touched me. Anyway, at the party I started drinking and I didn't care how much I drank, I just wanted to forget. Isabel found me hanging on a girl completely wasted. She was pissed as hell. That was the day Isabel started abusing me. Every time I did something she didn't approve of she started hitting me. I was stupid. I thought she would change if I just behave right. I was in love with her. That day in May when you saw me the last time, the last day I was in my home town, Isabel saw us in the mall. She got furious when I came home. She started beating me, throwing random punches all over my body. When she was done with me she just left. I was lying there on my kitchen floor bleeding and crying my eyes out. My mom Tay found me in the morning. She took me to the hospital but I didn't tell them who did it. Tay and Jen decided it would be better for us to move away. So, we packed our stuff and moved up to Seattle, we stayed with my Grandparents for a while 'till summer break and then we got a house up there. It was good but around October Isabel showed up. She didn't know I moved up there, but when she meet me, she apologized, said that she spend the last four months in Therapy and that she changed. She begged me to give her another chance. I told her it's too late but we could try to be friends. Sometime around February she developed a crush on Eve, she was in our Dance group and she's god damn good at what she's doing. Isabel asked her out and they started dating. I warned Eve but I couldn't tell her what Isabel did. Kind of because I didn't want her to know about my fucked-up past, kind of because I really wanted Isabel to have another chance even though there is a big possibility that she'd fuck it up. But she didn't. Not yet. It's been eight months and they've been the cutest couple at my old school." She finished, I'm speechless after everything she just told me. "So now tell me what happened with your girlfriend and your family?" I was still quiet for a little longer. I needed to let this sink in. My best friend just told me her girlfriend abused her and I haven't noticed anything. "I guess it's too late now to beat Isabel up for what she did." She chuckled lightly. "Yes it is... Now tell me about Lea, what happened with her and why are you here?" I took a deep breath, this is going to be a long story. "So Lea and I have been dating for nearly three months when she wanted to meet my Parents. I loved her so I agreed but I wanted to out myself to them before she would meet my Parents. Uhm I sat down in the living room with them. I tried telling them in a casual nice atmosphere. I started with telling them that I fell in love and they immediately wanted to know who that guy was. I mean seriously I never looked like a girl who would date a guy. I told them her name is Lea and that she's a girl, they lost it completely. My mom yelled at me that I'm confused and that I haven't met the right guy. After that the big yelling and denial part began. It all ended with my mom screaming at me to leave the house and never come back. So I left the house with just one bag stuffed with clothes. I had a bit more than 20 dollars. The next month I spent living on the street. Sleeping under a bridge, eating whatever I could find or afford from the 20 dollar I had. I lost Lea, I didn't want to tell her how my parents reacted so I told her I couldn't do it. She said she didn't want to date someone who couldn't even tell their Parents. So, she broke up with me. Then one day I was at the basketball court, this is where Sarah found me, she wanted to give me a scholarship for her school but I told her that she wouldn't do it if she knew me. She just shrugged sat down on the bleachers and ask me to tell her everything. I told her that I'm a gay girl living on the streets because my Parents wouldn't accept me for who I am. Sarah then told me I could live with her, Sam and Ruby. And this is how I ended up with a broken heart in a fucking big mansion." I ended with a big gesture towards the house. "Damn, I'm sorry Ada. I should have been there for you. Your Parents just abandoned you. I should have been there and I should have let you stay at my place and I should have..." I cut her off by hugging her. "Just as I should have been there for you. But it wasn't meant to be at that time. From now on we'll be there for each other. I'll be there for you little sister." I grinned at her. She grinned up at me. "Just as I'll be there for you big brother." "Are you girls ready for dinner?" Alex my brother stood in the door with his black, emo hair, and a large Fall Out Boy shirt. "Sure, how was the band practise?" I got up and pulled Jenna up with me. "Good, we practised a new song and it really went smooth." We walked into the dining room where Charlie already sat. "Where are Ally and Sam?" I asked sitting down on Alex' right side with Jenna on my left. Charlie sat right across from me. "I'm here." Ally said coming into the room. She sat down across from Jenna. "Sam is getting Ruby ready to come down. You know how she is with meeting new people and ..." She looked at Jenna and stopped talking. Something pretty unusual for Ally if you'd know her. I'll go help her, so that we can start eating." I got up and went upstairs to Ruby's room. I kneeled down in front of the small four-year-old girl. "Hey sweetheart, I heard you don't want to come down?" "You have a friend over I don't want to intrude." She looked down on the floor, her soft blonde curls hanging down in her face. "Sweetie you're not intruding. Jenna is a really nice girl and I want you to meet her." She shook her head so that her curls were flying around. "Please she is really important to me, and I promise you she won't ask you any questions." She looked up at me with her light blue eyes. "Is she your girlfriend?" "No Honey, She's kind of like my Sister. So, will you do me the pleasure and meet her?" She thought about it for a minute before nodding her head and taking my hand, pulling me downstairs. "Thanks Ada." Sam walked next to me and I put my arm over her shoulder pulling her close to me. We walked back into the dining room and sat down in our usual seats. Sarah brought out the Lasagne and sat down at the head of the table. "Jenna, I want to introduce you to my family. This is my older sister Sam and her daughter Ruby. She's a little shy." "Nice to meet you." Sam said smiling at her. "Then this is my 'twin brother' Alex." I said and he waved. "And my little sisters Ally and Charley." Charley smiled at her and Ally waved shyly. "Nice to meet you all." Jenna said before we started eating and talking about everything like we usually did. After dinner, I decided to drive Jenna home. "Can you wait for a sec? I want to talk to Ally before we go." I walked over to Ally in the living room. "Hey little Sis." "What do you want?" She said annoyed. Ally hates it when you interrupt her while watching orange is the new black. "I just wondered if I could borrow your car." "You have your own car." "I know, but Jenna really loves Lamborghini and I want to surprise her." She threw me her car keys. "Just get out of here and bring my baby back." "Thank you." I got up from the couch and walked out to Jenna, who is waiting next to my car. "Surprise girl, we're taking Ally's car." I stopped in front of the shiny black car. "Wow. Wait. If you have a Porsche, Ally has a Lamborghini, then whose Ferrari is that?" I looked over at the red sports car next to the one I stood in front of. "Alex, the Audi next to it belongs to Sam and the Chrysler next to my Porsche is Sarah's." I got into the car and waited for Jenna to get in as well. "Why are you guys so rich?" I chuckled. "Sarah makes pretty good money at the school. We try not to show it too much, at least that's what Sarah is saying. In reality, we have that big house and all these expensive cars. For us Kids it's hard to hold back, at some point we all lived on the street, trying to stay alive with what we had. Sarah found us there. When she found me, we lived in a smaller house. But when Sarah found Ally the house got too small so we moved into that house. Now we have enough space for all of us and we even have some rooms left. The cars were a gift from Sarah. She said she wanted us to have the car we want, what she didn't knew was that we had big dreams with cars." I started driving until I realised I didn't know where Jenna lived now. "Ugh sorry, I don't know where live now." "Oh yeah, sorry." She told me where to go and I parked in front of her house. "You want to come inside? Jen and Tay would be happy to meet you again." "Sure." I smiled as we got out of the car and I followed her inside. "Jenna?" I heard her mom Tay call from somewhere in the house. "Yeah mom, I'm home." I walked behind Jenna into the Kitchen. "You're late honey, where have you been?" Tay asked with her back turned to us. "I met an old friend at school and we went out to catch up on some stuff." Can I meet that old friend?" She asked still not facing us. "Sure, Ma'am it would be great to see you again." I said leaning against the wall next to the door. Tay turned around to look at me with wide eyes. "Ada is that you? It sounds like you but you sure don't look the same. Where did my little innocent girl go?" She asked walking over to me. "Yes, Ma'am it's me. I changed a bit." Tay lightly hit my arm. I wouldn't have felt it if I hadn't seen it. "Stop being so formal." She hugged me, which probably looked really funny since Tay is so small. "Sorry Tay, it's great to see you again." She looked up at my 5'12 tall self. "Jesus Ada, you are so tall." "No aunt Tay, you're just small." Everyone is small for me. Jenna is 5'7 and Tay is even smaller. "I'm just 5'4. That's not that small." She pouted. "You are small babe, accept it, it's a fact that's not going to change." Aunt Jen came into the room and hugged Tay from behind softly kissing her neck. "Jen, there are Kids around." Tay said leaning into her chest. Jenna laughed. "Oh, don't bother about A, her gay ass won't mind." Jenna said shaking her head a bit. "Hey, I'm not that gay." I exclaimed which made Jen look up at me. She let go of Tay and hugged me. "Oh my god Ada." She screamed into my ear. Her Australian accent strong in her voice. "Aunt Jen it's nice to see you again." Jen wrapped her 5'6 tall body around me. "It's been so long Ada." She finally let go of me. I can't believe Jen and Jenna aren't related by blood. They're basically one person. We moved over to the living room all catching up on the last two years, until my phone rang in my pocket. I pulled it out seeing Sarah's name on the screen. "Shit." I mumbled, before answering the call. "Sorry Sarah, I got distracted talking about old times with Jenna's Parents. I'll be home soon." I rushed out before Sarah could scold me. "I swear to god Ada, if that happens again I'll put you in the classical music class instead of basketball." "No Sarah, please. I'm sorry, I'm on my way, I swear." I exclaimed. "The only thing I want from you is a single text that you stay out longer than expected and you can't even do that Ada. You're grounded." She ended the call and I got up. "I'm sorry guys but I really have to go." I got into Ally's car after I hugged everyone goodbye.
