Isabel's POV

Adam left the room and Ruby immediately clung to Ally. That girl seems to be really shy. I wonder who she is. Adams sister? Or is she his daughter? He never told us, but judging from the way she clung to him they had to be really close. Eve and I tried to ask her some things but she just clung to Ally who nervously looked at the clock. Ten minutes later Adam walked back into the living room and Ruby raised her arms towards him. He picked her up, bevor sitting down next to his sister. She started playing with his hair, and surprisingly he let her. Usually, from what I've seen, nobody was allowed to touch Adams hair. He looked over his shoulder and sighed. "Char, come in, you're not going to stand next to the door for the rest of the day." My jaw dropped slightly when the girl shyly entered the room. The green hoodie she was wearing complimented her gorgeous green Eyes, that you can't see right now, due to the fact that she kept looking at the floor. Her wild red curls flying around her face and her small body. She looked breathtakingly beautiful tonight. I swallowed hard. "Hey." She whispered sitting down next to Adam, who rolled his eyes. "Guys this is my sister Charley, Charley those are my friends Isabel and Eve." Adam introduced us. Well I already knew that, except for the fact that they're siblings. My heart was beating impossibly fast in my chest. "H-Hey Charley." I stuttered out, my voice shaking slightly. I avoided her for the last week, and it was so hard. Seeing her walking down the hallway with her friends and not being able to walk over and hug her was so hard. I had to turn around and walk away as fast as I could. All I wanted was to spend every second of my day with her. To make her smile and laugh. But I couldn't. I just know I'd fuck it up and I don't want to hurt her. She's so perfect. Cute, innocent, kind, funny, she's so talented when it comes to dancing. I know that she has feelings for me, but I can't let that happen. I just can't trust myself. I already fucked up twice. I don't want that to happen again. God fucking damn it. Why do I have to be so fucked up? "Charley? I'm sorry but have I met you somewhere before?" Charley swallowed hard. "School probably. We all go to the same High School so it's not unlikely that we met there." Charley still looked down at the floor, avoiding me completely, while I starred at her like a love-sick puppy. "Oh, yeah that could be it. I didn't know Adam had two sisters." "Three actually, there is me, Charley and Sam." Ally explained. The doorbell rang so Adam got up and took Ruby with him to open the door. We could hear their conversation since it was so quiet in the room. "JENNA." Ruby squealed. "Hey Princess." Jenna said followed by, "Merry Christmas you two." "Merry Christmas Jenna. Merry Christmas Tay and Jen." "Merry Christmas A." They both said before Adam invited them in. They all walked into the living room and we greeted them and wished them a merry Christmas. Jenna and her parents joined us on the couch and we all started talking to each other. Jenna and Ally were having a little argument. "No Jenna. I'm not playing any instrument at any time for you. Not today, not ever." "Please Ally, just one song, please." Jenna pouted. "No." Ally said firmly Jenna was just about to start again when the bell rang. Adam got up and walked to the door again. A few minutes later they came back. Matt still on crutches from his accident. "Hey guys." He greeted falling down on the couch. Lisa sitting next to him. "You two came here together?" Eve asked them. "Yeah, it's a bit hard to drive with that leg so A asked Lisa to pick me up." They all went back to talking and I focused my eyes on Charley. I tried not to stare at her but my eyes kept going back. She was talking to Ally and they laughed together. She's so beautiful when she laughs. I wish I could make her this happy. "Don't make it too obvious." Eve whispered in my ear. "W-What?" "Don't play dumb Isabel. You've been staring at her since she came into this room. Why don't you go and talk to her?" She was still whispering so that only I could hear her. "I...I told her that we shouldn't ... I told her that we..." I groaned and buried my head in my hands. "You told her what?" "I told her that we can't be friends and I told her that we can't be whatever we had. Eve, I can't be who she needs. I'm too much of a fuck up and I just can't take the risk that I might hurt her." Eve looked at me as if I'm crazy. Well, I kinda am. "So, you told her that you don't want anything to do with her?" "No, yes, well I tried to explain it to her." "That doesn't mean that it hurts less. Isabel? I want you to look past your fears and tell me what you want." "Her. I want her to be happy, with me. But I can't make her happy, so I want her to be happy without me, even so it means that I can't be happy." "Why do you think you can't make her happy?" "Because I'll fuck up like I did with you and Jenna." "Isabel don't you think Charley knows what she's risking? Neither I nor Jenna knew about that side of you, but she knows and she's still willing to risk it, and do you know why?" I shook my head. "Because she loves you and she wants you to be happy. So, go over and apologize to her." "I can't do that. Eve I can't risk to hurt her. I have to get my life in order before I even think about getting a girlfriend. I can't be with her until I'm alright. And now drop it." She sighed. "Where's Alex?" I heard someone say, so I looked up. A beautiful young woman walked into the room. She seemed to be around 20 years old. "Mommy!" Ruby held her arms up and she picked her up from Adams lap. "He should be here any minute with Jack." "Ugh Jack is coming?" "Sorry honey, it was the only way to get Alex to come back." "It's alright A, but if he says one offensive comment I'll kick him out of the door." "Feel free to do that, but please kick him hard." "Oh, I'll do that. I'm still not over what he did to Alex, I could kill him." "I know honey, I'd be right at your side, helping you to torture him to make his death as painful as possible." "Uhm. What did he do to deserve that?" Eve looked slightly terrified. "A lot. Sadly, Alex didn't allow us to do anything." In that moment, a skinny boy in an oversized blink-182 Christmas sweater entered the room followed by a tall guy. "Finally. If you ever do that again I promise you, your punishment will be the worst you've ever had in your life, young man." "You do realise you're not that much older than I am?" "You do realise that I don't give a fuck? You're lucky you got back before Sarah. And now excuse me I've got some dinner to prepare." Adam was about to walk out when Ruby called out to him. "Daddy, I want to help you." Adam turned around. "Then come on princess." Ruby hopped down from her mothers lap and ran to him. They both walked out together and Eve starred after the two. "Relax sweetie, A is not her father, that's impossible. Ruby just started saying daddy one day and Adam didn't stop her. We tried to tell her but well, sometimes she still says daddy." "So, you two are not together." They all started laughing. "Oh no. I'm Sam, Adams older sister." "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that." "It's not your fault. I never introduced myself." "Nice to meet you, I'm Eve." We all started introducing us Ms. Knight walked into the room about Twenty minutes later. "I'm sorry kids, I'm late." "It's fine, Adam took good care of us." "Where is he anyways?" Ms. Knight looked at Sam. "In the kitchen with Ruby." "Dinner is ready." Adam walked back into the room. "But someone needs to set up the table. Alex would you be so nice and do that with Jack." Alex started protesting but Adam just raised his eyebrow and the skinny boy got up and walked out of the room. Jack followed close behind him. "Thank god, Mom you're back. This Kids are tiring." Ruby walked over to Adam and he immediately picked her up. "I'm not tiring." Ruby pouts. "No, you're not. But your Aunts and uncle sure are a handful." "Hey we helped decorating." Ally protested. "Okay your uncle, He thinks he's a rebel." "Well he's in a band." "Anyway, let's have dinner." Adam said and we all followed him to the huge dining room. We all that down at the long table. The Knights on one side with Ruby, Sam, Ally, Charley, Adam and Alex, then Jack and Matt next to them on the head of the table. Ms. Knight and Lisa were at the other head side and Jenna's Parents, Jenna, I and Eve on the other side of the table. Somehow, I ended up sitting in front of Charley. I managed to ignore her pretty good since Eve tried to get me to talk to her, but now that she's sitting right in front of me, she's impossible to ignore. She put her curly hair up in a wild bun and now I could see her face clearly. Damn it, why do I have to have a crush on her? Why does she have to be so beautiful? She stole my heart and I'm not ready for this. I can't take care of her heart, I'd crush it into a million pieces without even wanting to hurt her. I should just go far away. I'm willing to do everything for her. "Isabel stop staring, again." Eve Whispered next to me. "Yeah, I can't help it, she's just so beautiful" "Then why don't you talk to her?" "Because she wouldn't listen. She may know what I did to you guys but she doesn't know why I am who I am. Just like you and Jenna." "God Isabel, sometimes I wonder how you ever managed to get a girlfriend." "Well Jenna came after me and you basically challenged me." I chuckled lightly. "Challenged you? What did I do?" "You said no to me. I wasn't used to that, so I had to make you mine." "Okay and what is so different about her." "I have no Idea. But she stole my heart I don't know how to get it back." "Well ask her. Maybe she'll give it back to you. But I don't know what's the prize for that." Eve and I kept talking through dinner. I never thought that we could be friends after what I did to her. But looking at it now we are better friends than girlfriends.
