Sunday passed quite peacefully for Hikaru, well, almost peacefully. She got lucky that the Oikawa's are back from their summer outing and let her stay over until Monday. Right before she was about to sleep, her sister, Konami, called.

"Hikaru? Are you doing fine there?" Konami asked from the other line, sounding slightly exhausted.

Her question quickly brought a smile on Hikaru's face. It's the first time in a while that she called just to check on her, and it made the girl incredibly happy. The ravenette sat up straight in a gleeful manner, "Nee-chan I'm doing okay here. Done for tonight?" she asked.

Konami sighed heavily from the other line, "Yeah, schedule's been tighter than usual. You received your monthly allowance yesterday, right Hikaru?"

"Um actually, I didn't." Hikaru hesitantly answered, wishing that her sister wouldn't question it any further.

However, it piqued Konami's curiosity. She knew her little sister withdraws money on time, she never fails to do so, well not until now. "Why? Is something up? Tell me" Konami questioned, getting in a comfortable position on the couch, arms and legs sprawled across.

Hikaru groaned quietly, not wanting to say a thing regarding that topic. But of course, she'd never say no. Not to Konami at least. "My house got flooded yesterday Nee-chan. But it's okay now, I managed to get through so don't worry" the ravenette replied, letting her body fall backwards on the soft bed she sat on.

Before her sister could interrogate her further, Hikaru chimed again, "How about you Nee-chan? Aren't you taking a break soon? When are you going to visit me here?" she asked, expectant to see the older female again. It's been 3 months since she last did and thinking about reuniting with Konami made her heart swell in joy. Her smile never leaving her face as she waited her sister's reply.

But something unexpected happened, "Hikaru wait for a second" said Konami, tapping the hold button on the screen before leaving her phone on top of the coffee table. Her manager just arrived to talk about her upcoming promotions.

The ravenette waited patiently for her sister's response, her hopes high as it can be. Her eyes widened, surprised that she can actually hear the voice of the two from the other line. Unintentionally, she began to eavesdrop.

"Yuka-san, how did the meeting go?" her sister asked.

The person, otherwise known as Yuka, replied, "It went well. They're very pleased with the positive feedbacks you're getting. The project's getting a lot of sponsors." answer the manager in a deep voice, confirming that the person is a man. "What do you plan on doing with your sister? If she decides to turn on you your whole career will go down the drain Izanami"

The ravenette's brows furrowed, why are they suddenly mentioning her. But a part of her had this hope that her sister would defend her.

However, Hikaru's anticipation disappeared, hearing her older sibling's response to her manager's question. "She won't be a bother. That sister of mine is stupid to believe everything I say. I just need her to record my songs with her voice and after that I'm cutting off all ties with her. She's so naive and trusts people easily."

The corners of the ravenette's lips fell down, losing the glint in her eyes.

After a few minutes of laughing and talking with her manager, Konami picked up the phone and pressed the hold button again to undo it."I can't. Not anytime soon, Hikaru" Konami said, followed by a heavy sigh trying to sound like she was looking forward to it too.

She laughed bitterly through the line, something she wished but never done before whenever she spoke to her sister. "Why?" ask the girl, placing one arm on top of her closed eyes. Her heart feeling like it could burst any second. The line went silent for a few moment as Hikaru fought herself not to lash out at her beloved sister. She held herself back greatly, and clenched her fist. "On second thought, you don't need to answer Nee-chan. It's not like I haven't got a clue of what you really wanted." Hikaru's voice sounded ice cold, devoid of any emotions.

Even Konami shivered hearing her sister speaking like this, and it made her gulp in fear as Hikaru's statement sinked in. The older female mentally cursed herself, tugging on the roots of her hair in regret. "Hikaru don't tell me you hear—" she intended to straighten things out, but Hikaru isn't going to let her do so.

"Don't be scared now Nee-chan. I will still continue the recording, and I will still join your team after I finish my second year here. That's how much I love you Nee-chan." Hikaru pressed the end button and furiously threw her phone on the wall. Her hands desperately wiping off the tears streaming down from her face.

Konami remained motionless for a while, before pulling her knees to her chest, shaking as she realized that what she had done. But being the selfish and conniving person she is, instead of worrying about her sister and how she hury Hikaru, the female's thoughts were flooded of ways on how to avoid losing her career and popularity.

All the while Hikaru, slowly fell down on her knees. The doubts she had for Konami slowly came back from the depths of her heart, the sadness and grief she sealed when her parents passed, and Tsukishima's smiles and laughs all because of Koharu made it hard to stop the tears. She clenched tightly on her clothes, writhing in pain as her heart felt like it was squeezed tightly.

That night, Hikari cried her heart out quietly. The desperate attempts to stifle her whimpers and sobs, trying hard not to wake up anyone in the Oikawa household.

Why was it that all these unwanted feelings decided to come back now? "Fuck." Hikaru cursed under her breath, burying her face under the thick sheets and large pillows. It's been a while since she cursed to that extent. To be honest, she hated uttering those kind of words. But her heart simply ached too much that it became overwhelming. It left her no choice but to voice a single word in anger, sadness and pain.

Hikaru hated letting it all out. It's too painful. And so, she furiously wiped the tears from her eyes, hands still trembling violently, lulling herself into sleep which she found harder than ever.

Planning to wake up tomorrow , say sorry to Konami, reject any feelings for the blonde and forget about her parents' death.

A facade.
