The boy chuckled as he finished sealing the last white envelope. He had tried, truly tried, to keep a straight face while writing to Selene. But he didn't have it in him to do so. There wasn't enough contempt left in him to keep him serious.

So he laughed.

He laughed, not out of spite, but because the situation was so comical. Looking back on it now, it was so stupid the way things played out. So dramatic and angst filled. So, so...

High school.

The boy chuckled even as his heart cried its last goodbye.

"Goodbye Selene," he murmured.

His heart became a little lighter as he opened the curtains, finally letting the light in.
