Soft moonlight illuminated the frame of a girl wrapped around a man with her eyes closed in a blissful sleep and the man watching her long lashes forming a shadow sighed in satisfaction as her feather like breath fawned over his neck but it was hard for Alistair to sleep.

Was it right to tell her the partial truth?

She was not a person who would not be able to see through his woven web of lies. There were too many loopholes, maybe not today but tomorrow she would definetly see right through it.

If he already was a general they why didn't he took up the position of Arkalos before, his identity was enough to let him have it then why did he struggled to build Arkalos?

Why did he need Karma then, why become an ally? there were questions and behind every question there was a dark truth.

Alistair was raised as an orphan and his family even before the death of his parents was much dysfunctional, his brother Nixon who was younger than him could not even see a moment of love when everything was snatched away from them.

Alistair had known about Karma much before she entered his office, how couldn't he when she was the love interest of his brother.

This was not meant to escalate like this, he wasn't meant to fall for her in the first place.

Nixon had liked Karma since the day she first stepped foot into Harvard but the woman never gave anyone chance to utter a single word of love to her at that time. Three years of college and those feelings deepened into much more.

Karma was a prodigy so it was not difficult for the past fellow students to enquire about her whereabouts so when she was appointed for Arkalos, Nixon was filled with joy, Alistair had never denied him anything so the boy asked his brother to push men away from Karma and also for to arrange a rendezvous for them.

"Fuck" the white shirt was discarded on the floor when it became difficult for him to breathe, he opened the window trying to find solace in the serenity of nature.

"She is not good for you." Alistair remembered those damned words leaving his own tongue when he saw the true nature of Karma, a venomous beauty.

Nixon was the most sincere person Alistair could ever point to, complete opposite of him... his heart full of solid gold would never be able to understand such dark conspiracies and bloodshed and that was the first thing Alistair saw in those frost eyes that he was now insane for.

Alistair had tried everything to push the woman away from his life, liking her was like committing a sin, completely forbidden but Alistair fell in love with the heart he found too cold to be connected to his brother.

She was his.

Whenever his brother asked for meeting Karma Alistair would admant to not let that happen. Arkalos was not for him ever...it was for his brother and meeting Karma too was for Nixon.

"Alistair?" before the euphonious voice could reach his ears, silk like body wrapped around his muscular back while dainty arms circled his waist.

"Karma I don't want to let you go." the girl did not replied just the arms clutched him even tighter.

Cool breeze made her hair swiftly sway with it, aroma of sweet red roses filling his nose as Alistair turned around holding her petite waist like a predator holding their prey into claws.

"Baby......I want to tell you everything"

In a jade green dress, it looked as if a celestial being with stars encrusted in her hair and golden dust decorating her skin sat in the small café of the town, the dress was simple yet elegant but any passerby could conclude without questions that she belonged to the aristocratic part of the society.
