“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Under the dim light, only the sharp edges of the man’s jaw could be seen faintly. However, his strangely firm voice echoed all around.

He sat leaning against a leather sofa, but his body was not relaxed at all. His hair was brushed back completely, without a strand out of place. Even the buttons on his shirt were closed all the way up to the very last button around the neck. His back was rigidly straight.

“If you’re certain,” He slightly paused, lifting his chin, revealing a pair of sharp eagle like eyes, “of what you’re saying. Then you’re in control and you can directly report me to the higher ups, make sure I get acquitted, and expose my identity.”

His finger tapped lightly on the surface of the table as he laughed lightly: “As long as I’m truly like what you say... vile.”

Silence.

The man sitting across from him started to sweat all over his forehead. He wanted to say ‘I have evidence” but the atmosphere in the room was so thick and viscous. It hung in the air, sticking to his throat, and making him unable to speak at all.

In the end, he could only gazed heavily at the man in front of him and chose to get up and leave.

This kind of formidable man, unless he had 100% solid evidence to throw in his face, there’d be no way to move him.

“Okay, cut!”

Director Sheng was extremely pleased and said happily to Lin Ji: “Today, you’re in a good state. This scene passed. You can go rest for a bit, change your costume and fix your makeup. Later we’ll continue filming the next scene.”

The man sitting upright on the sofa raised his eyebrow, the oppressive aura around him instantly changed to normal and approachable. Lin Ji nodded his head: “Okay. Thank you, director Sheng.”

“Lin ge, here’s some water.” As soon as he saw the scene was over, A-Liang quickly brought Xiao Xing over with a warm thermos and towel.

“En. Thank you guys.” Lin Ji accepted the thermos and took a sip. He instantly paused: “What’s this?”

A-Liang accepted the heating pad from Xiao Sing’s hands, opened the packaging and handed it over, while explaining: “Haven’t you been feeling a bit overheated lately. This is to help reduce the heat. However, it’s not too cold.” He knew the limits.

(Note: A few things here. The heating pad here is a sticker you put on your skin, which gives heat and warms ppl up. Also the overheating thing (Literal translation is ‘on fire’)… uhh it’s a vague eastern medical symptom for inflammation, sore throat, ache and some other stuff. Can also be for nosebleeds or… too excitable. I don’t really know if there’s an official English term so I’ll just use this word from now on.)

Reduce the heat? It’s because of Rong Qing right?

Lin Ji thought for a moment, a little gloomy.

Was his overheating that obvious?

Drinking a few more sips, Lin Ji stuck the heating pad on. In the last scene, he had to film in only a shirt, so naturally the heating pad couldn’t be hidden. The next scene was better. He could use a coat to cover it.

On the side, Xiao Xing couldn’t resist stating: “Lin ge, the scene you acted in just now was really too amazing! I saw many people were completely stunned by your imposing manner!”

When she finished, she sneakily looked around and then added in a small voice: “I saw the director was also extremely satisfied. He kept nodding his head over there.”
