Chapter 14: The Wedding

SASHA REIN SALVATORE

A very special event between two people who love each other. A very special day na dapat pinag-iisipang mabuti at pinag-pa-planuhan ng maayos. It's the day when you become one with the love of your life. Sinong hindi sasaya, hindi ba?

But, sadly, that's not the case for me, for us. Because this wedding is only for our parents, for the benefit of our company, for the benefit of the economy. There's no love or whatever cheesy things a groom and a bride must have dahil hindi naman namin ito gusto.

Isa pa, that kind of wedding is only for average people. People in our class rarely held a wedding solely based on 'love.' Arranged marriage or fixed marriage or whatever they may call it, usong-uso 'yan lalo na sa business industry. In simple terms, a marriage of convenience.

I'm not a hypocrite or a bitter person, I'm just stating a fact here. I may not be a believer in love, but still, this is not the wedding I've dreamt of. I'm still a woman, after all. I still want to have my own, 'happy ending,' as they call it.

Here I am in front of a vanity table looking at my reflection. No hint of happiness can be seen in my eyes. If I'm just a terrible daughter, I'll run off in this wedding.

"You're really beautiful, Ma'am Sasha." I heard Iya say. She's still my make up artist dahil ayokong magpaayos sa iba. I'm sensitive. I don't let anyone touch me, without my permission.

I just ignored her. I'm aware that I'm beautiful, no need to inform me.

"Ma'am, smile naman d'yan. It's your wedding day, pero mas mukha po kayong namatayan." My Manager Mira said and laughed a little.

I gave her a nasty glance. Does she thinks I'll be happy to get married out of my will?

Wala ako sa mood makipag-usap kahit kanino. Narinig ko naman siyang tumikhim at hindi na nagsalita muli. Mabuti naman.

At saka kung ako ang tatanungin, this wedding is not that different from a funeral, especially since he's the groom. Sounds bitter? Well, whatever.

After a few minutes, natapos na rin si Iya sa pag ayos sa akin kaya naman agad niya akong tinulungang suotin ang wedding gown ko.

'Yung pinili nila Mommy na gown is simple yet elegant. It's a v-shaped white gown with a style of ball gown made of white silk. It's like a royal dress. Elegant and classy but simple. In all fairness, may maganda rin pala dito sa wedding na ito. This dress, I love it.

"Tada! What do you think, Ma'am?" Iya asked. I saw admiration in their eyes.

I'm just staring at my reflection in the mirror. I know I'm beautiful, but I must say I'm extra gorgeous in this gown. This suits me. Still, it doesn't change the fact that I'm getting married to the guy I hate the most, no, I loathe the most. Tsk.

Magsasalita na sana ako ng may kumatok sa pinto.

"Hi, there pretty lady." I looked at the person at the door and my mood suddenly lit up.

"OMG! Kuya Jace!" I exclaimed. He just chuckled and opened his arms as if waiting for a hug.

I ran to him and hugged him. I can hear his small chuckles. I miss this hug.

"I miss you, Kuya!" I said still hugging him. The last time I saw him was last year before he left for England.

"I miss you too, princess," he said as we let go of our hug. Bigla rin nitong ginulo ng bahagya ang buhok ko.
