Great Responsibility

Verily, allow me to express my discontent: I hold a profound disdain for the act of being captured, far greater than thy imagination may fathom.

Forsooth, as a mighty dragon, my kind harbors hatred towards human devices, be they chains or any restraints that impede my unrestricted liberty. Alas, the illustrious organization is known as S.H.E.I.L.D. hath taken it upon themselves to excel in vexing my very essence, thus propelling me perilously close to the precipice of wrath.

I suspect that the astute Agent Fury is well aware of my draconic nature, for why else would he subject me to this imprisonment?

"My sincerest apologies for the intrusion, my liege," a voice offered humbly. I turned my attention to witness Fury approaching with an air of authority, his demeanor unwavering, head held high as is his custom.

A sense of noble discontent washed over me, causing me to raise an eyebrow and cross my arms regally. "Pray to tell, as a distinguished master of espionage, do you deem it necessary to elucidate your vested interest in my personage? I, who have tirelessly dedicated myself to safeguarding this city and ensuring the well-being of Spider-Man, find myself disheartened by this rather ungracious treatment," I hissed, my words carrying a touch of wounded nobility.

Burdened by the weight of responsibility, Fury let out a weary sigh. "I implore you to accept my sincerest apologies, but alas, the true extent of your remarkable abilities remains uncertain. Hence, it becomes imperative to confine you within these walls," he explained. Rolling my eyes with a regal air of exasperation, I turned my back to him and gracefully approached the modest resting place, a meager metallic structure ill-suited for one of my stature.

A low growl resonated within me, a testament to the mounting frustration that stirred beneath my noble countenance.

"I fervently pray, Emberwiung, that a day shall dawn when the truth behind our actions, and the depth of our mistrust, shall be unveiled to your discerning eyes," Fury declared, his words laced with noble passion, as he departed from my presence. A weary sigh escaped my lips, for in that moment, I glimpsed the fallibility of humanity.

"Foolish mortals," I whispered in the recesses of my mind, vexed by their senseless actions. "Imbeciles, bereft of reason. I should have never abandoned my sovereign realm. I ought to have heeded my mother's counsel and the wisdom bestowed upon me by Drogon and all who wished me well. Alas!" I shook my head in rueful contemplation and eventually succumbed to a restless slumber.

Yet, my repose was disturbed by an unmistakable fragrance reminiscent of the arachnid-themed hero known as Spider-Man. I grumbled, "What brings you here, web-slinger?" Turning to face him, though my head and body remained supine on the bed.

The young man had cast aside his mask, revealing his youthful countenance, unabashed and vulnerable. I squinted my eyes, allowing my cascading mane of white hair to accentuate my rise to a seated position.

"Why have you discarded your mask?" I inquired, my voice tinged with curiosity. "Because, dear dragon, I place my unwavering trust in you. While Nick Fury may harbor doubts, you need not expose my identity to the entire world," he replied, a conviction in his voice.

I emitted a low, contemplative hum, tilting my head slightly. "And what compels you to defy your superiors, dear Peter?" I inquired, genuine curiosity shining in my eyes. Peter lowered his gaze, a flicker of uncertainty passing across his features. "Because, despite your undeniable danger, I find it difficult to believe that you are entirely evil. There's something... uncertain about you," he trailed off, his words tinged with doubt and curiosity. I let out an amused snort, standing up and making my way toward the glass partition, placing my hand upon it.

"You know nothing of who I truly am, Parker, whereas I possess the knowledge befitting a guardian," I remarked, a hint of authority underlying my voice. Peter's eyes flickered with surprise at my assertion.

"Do you truly know my identity?" he asked, his voice laced with apprehension and intrigue. I shrugged nonchalantly, a smirk playing at the corners of my lips. "I possess knowledge of everyone within these walls. After all, I have resided here long enough," I replied cryptically. With that, I stepped back as a dark screen descended, sealing off the cell and affording me a moment's respite.
