'All I know is this could
either break
my heart
or bring
it back to life'
⁻ᵗᵃʸˡᵒʳ ˢʷⁱᶠᵗ, ᶠᵃˡˡ ᵒᵘᵗ ᵇᵒʸ; ᵉˡᵉᶜᵗʳⁱᶜ ᵗᵒᵘᶜʰRIVER WAS placed in a room in the Justice Building so she could say her final goodbyes.
She stared out the window from her seat, looking out at the beautiful ocean that almost seemed like it was saying her name. The waves crashed on the shore and through the cracked window, probably from some other tribute trying to break out, she could hear the sounds you could hear in a seashell.
Like home.
The door opening broke her trance and she turned to see Annie.
Without a second thought, she had her arms around the red headed woman, burying her head into the woman's sweater.
Annie had tears streaming down her face and River didn't want to let go, a few tears of her own staining the woven sweater.
"I don't want you to go. I can't lose you too." Annie cried, pulling River away but keeping her hands on her shoulders.
"I love you so much, Annie." Annie squeezed her eyes shut again, more tears rolling down before she opened them again, placing a kiss to her forehead.
Soon, a Peacekeeper stormed in, pulling Annie away and bringing Mags in.
River gave her a small hug before Mags placed her hand over the necklace dangling from her neck. She gave a small smile, Mags returning it.
"In here." The woman muttered before giving another, tight lipped smile. Just as fast as she came, she was gone.
River watched the closed door, willing anyone to walk through but nothing. She sat in silence, waiting for her escort.
