I look at my reflection in the mirror. There are red marks around my wrists. My lipstick is smeared across my face. My hair is a mess from shaking my head while being pressed against a wall.
I’m just a train-wreck.
If Gavin didn’t step in, who knows where I’d be know or what I would be doing.
I hear a door open and close.
“Skye?”
I step out of the bathroom and into Gavin’s view. Upon seeing me, he steps forward, taking me back into the bathroom. He examines the finger marks on my wrists, anger rolling off him in waves.
“Thank you for saving me.”
“I just wish I got there sooner.”
His thumbs brush across the marks. I also continue to stare at them.
“How did you know I was back there?”
“First, I saw you go back. Second, a guy came over and told me that something bad was going on back there.”
The guy that patted my attacker?
Gavin’s fingers leave my skin. I look up at him, catching his gaze. Ocean blue eyes meet mine.
“I’ll get you a towel. Why don’t you hop in the shower?”
That’s an excellent idea. I can still feel the man’s hands tracing over my body. Every. Last. Touch. It makes me sick to my stomach.
“I don’t have any clothes.”
“I’ll find something for you.”
He moves to exit the bathroom but I stop him.
“Can you unzip this for me? I can’t reach.”
He nods, taking the zipper in his fingers. Cold air hits my back and he lets go of the zipper.
“I’ll give you a minute or so to get in the shower. I’ll be back with the towel and clothes.”
Gavin exits the bathroom, leaving me alone to figure out how to work the dang shower.
