After putting up with Gavin ignoring me for most of the day, I give in. I approach him cautiously.
"Hey."
"What do you want."
The harshness in his tone shocks me.
"Why are you being mean right now?"
No answer.
"Is it because your brother kissed me?"
He visibly tenses but remains silent.
"It is!"
He doesn't budge as he speaks.
"No. It's not."
I continue to poke the bear. This little game is over.
"You're jealous, aren't you?"
I know this is wrong but I want truth already. From him. Not from Andy or Sonny.
"No."
"You are! You wish it was you kissing me instead of Sonny."
Silence.
"Your silence only proves my theory."
He gets up from his spot at the island.
"I'm going to work in the bar where it's quiet."
He gathers his papers and walks towards the front door. He grabs the knob and turns his head slightly in my direction.
"Don't follow me."
With those words, he exits the apartment, slamming the door behind him.
