Chapter 9: Family

The next day, I was called to the vice principal's office again. Ugh.... I hope it's not my dad again, I really don't like coming to this woman's office so often. Even if I actually enjoy the AC and the sweets she gives me.

Knock! Knock!! Knock!!!

"Good morning ma" I greet

"Good morning Bella" She replies

"Ma you called me" I say

"Yes how are you today Bella??" She asks

"Ma please why did you call me??" I ask bluntly

I was getting annoyed cause I didn't like how I was often called to her office. I mean I am not the only student in this school. She should just get to the point so I can leave already.

"The visiting day is coming and your dad says he is coming" She says

"Ma please is that all??" I ask

"Miss. Bella can you be patient" She says

"Sorry ma but I have something important to do" I lied

I just couldn't stand this woman, it's like she's supporting my dad in whatever he is doing. Trying to make my life at this school a living hell, ok maybe that's too much but ugh. She's slowly making me hate her. Slowly.

"Then that's all you can leave" She says

I immediately leave her office, now my Dad was really turning into something. He could have just come, just trying to get unnecessary attention. It was getting really annoying. I enter my hostel and see Vera and Emily talking.

"Hey girl" Vera says

"What's up??" Ella also says

"Nothing really" I say

"So how did you and Andrew's reading stuff go??" Vera asks

"It was nice" I say

"Of course it would be" Ella says wiggling her eyebrows teasingly

"You guys are bad children" I say shaking my head like an adult

"Ooo sorry mummy" Ella says pouting

"But I know that's not the problem" Vera says

"Yea you are right, it's my dad" I say

"What happened??" Ella asks looking worried

"Me and my dad have lived together for a long time, after my mum left me when I was a baby. My dad always tried to make me forget the fact that she left but I always remembered." I say

"Of course you would, It's not easy to let go of some stuff" Ella says

"Yeah exactly" Vera adds

"He always tried to fill that void, come and check on me and stuff, when I was little it was sweet but now its just somehow annoying" I say

"Am feeling you girl, my mom does that a lot. But I told her if she does it in this school I wouldn't go to school again." Ella says with amusement on her face

"It's my aunt,I don't live with my parents and she always tries to make me happy and stuff. Am grateful but I still miss them" Vera said

"Exactly they are all trying to make us forget that there's someone missing but we just have to accept it"

"And now he is making it worse with the vice principal right??"

"Yeah I feel so frustrated"

"I think next time open up to him and tell him how you feel"

"Yea we all should"

"But I don't want to disappoint my dad and stuff"

"You aren't disappointing him"

"Yea you are just telling him how you feel"

"So let's stop feeling down"

"Yea and plus we got each other'

" That reminds me Vera who were you talking to today "

"I talked to a lot of people today"

"Mhmm okay let me remind you the one you were blushing and talking to"

"What are you spouting"

"Vera you never told me , anyways Bella has caught you"

"So it's official right you have a secret boyfriend"

"Stop talking"

I and Ella begin to sing 'Vera has a boyfriend " in a teasing tone. And she covers herself with a blanket, then we tickle her till she gets up.

I guess this wasn't bad at all!!
