The bell rings and thankfully interrupts our teacher from adding more homework. I remember Jackson saying he wants to talk to me. But i stand up and walk away, then Jackson grabs my hand.
And that's how you get a boy's attention
"Hey you are already leaving??" He says
"Emmm yeah or did you want to say something" I say
"I just wanted to ask whether we can be friends?" He say nervously
"Of course we are already friends" I say smiling
"But you haven't given me a nickname yet" He says pouting
"Let me think, hmm someone who likes to tease me" I say thinking
"Yeah" He says nudging me to continue
"Troublemaker" I say finally
"What??" He asks looking shocked
"Yep" I say proudly at my new nickname
"Of all names, you are bad at naming people" He says shaking his head
"Hey I tried, so catch you later troublemaker" I say
I hop back to the hostel, happy about my new name for Jackson. Maybe I will find new nicknames for Ella and Vera too. Speaking of those two, I hope Ella and Vera are in the room so we can finally decide. And fortunately they were in the room.
"Girl where have you been??, we have been waiting for you" Vera shouts
"Ooo sorry but was I really that late" I say dropping my bag
"Yeah" Vera says
"So let's decide" I say
"OK there are dancing, singing and acting" Ella says
"Well we aren't enough for an act" Vera says
"Yeah" I say
"But we can make it short" Ella says
"We need something to amaze the judges" I say
"Yeah not something short" Vera says agreeing with me
"Okay dancing??" Ella asks
"No way, my steps are horrible" Vera says
"And so are mine" I say remembering how I tripped on my own foot the last time I tried
"So can we settle for singing" Ella says
"Hmmm yeah I guess" I say
"Am not perfect but at least I can try" Vera says
"So singing it is" Ella says clapping
"So we better start rehearsing" I say
"Okay so which song?"Vera asks
"Yeah we need a song we can all sing" Ella says
"I don't care by Justin Bieber and Ed sheeran" I say
"We don't talk anymore by Charlie Puth" Vera says
"2002 by Annie Marie" Ella says
"Wow we have a lot of options to pick from" Vera says
"How many judges and their gender??" I ask
"Four judges; Two males and Two females" Ella says
"Hmmm we need a song that can talk to both the males and females" I say
"Okay then I think 'We don't talk anymore' is the best" Vera says
"Yeah there's the boys side and the girls side of the song" Ella says
"Sorry to disappoint you Justin Bieber and Ed sherran" I say pouting my lips
"Do you love their songs that much??" Vera asks
"Do I love them?? I know every single one of their songs" I say shouting
"I don't think they are such a big deal" Ella says
"What?? Have you heard shape of you, yummy, sorry, thinking out loud, perfect, company......." I say quickly
"OK fine we get it" Vera says interrupting my great listing
"Yeah you love them" Ella says rolling her eyes
"Not actually them but their songs" I say
"But I think Charlie Puth is the best. I mean there's one call away" Vera says
"What?? I mean have you listened to friends by Annie Marie" Ella says
"Let's not start this cause we all know who's gonna win" I say
"Don't even think its Justin Bieber" Ella says
"Whatever" I say rolling my eyes playfully
"OK so let's start" Vera says
"We are gonna split it" Ella says
Then we begin to practice, splitting the parts and memorizing the lyrics. We did a rough practice and I thought we might actually have a chance at this. The next day, I am on my way to class when I see on the notification board.
Visiting day tomorrow
I didn't know what to feel or think. Happy that my dad is gonna come. Sad that he is going to act like always. I wasn't looking forward to this
