lO MONTHS LATER
Parker left and rachel is one month old
LAURA POV
"Hey ross can you grab Rachel's bottle?"I point to where the bottle is and ross grabs it. We sit and cuddle on the couch while watching a movie
"See I told you we could do it" ross says to me and I smile
"Yeah"I blush then someone knocks on the door
"I'll get it"ross stands up and pecks my lips then walks to the door and opens it
"Hey"I hear a familiar voice so I stand up and see Carly. I haven't seen her since she woke ross up from the hospital
"Hey Carly what are you doing here?"I ask making sure she saw rachel
"Um well I was in the neighborhood and I remembered that you lived here so I decided to visit"she stares at ross the whole time and smiles
"Well isn't that just thoughtful of you"I say sarcastically
"Why don't you and I go for a walk and catch up ok?"ross says and Carly nods then ross walks back in to grab his jacket and I stop him
"What are you doing?"I ask him a little mad
"She's my friend and I'll be back later"he kisses my cheek then runs out leaving me and Rachel. I look down at rachel and she is looking at me
"Don't worry rachel. You will have a dad"I look at the door "even if it's not ross"I sigh then walk upstairs
ROSS POV
"So what are you doing here?"I ask while walking next to Carly
"Actually I was here on a job. I was wondering if you wanted to work there. It's a movie"I look at her suprised
"Wow that's exciting and yeah actually I could really use a job"we stop at a little coffee shop
"Ok why don't I talk to the director tomarrow?"I nod then we walk in
"Can I get a caramel latte with whipped cream?"Carly asks then we both walk to the other counter and grab her coffee
"You want to sit?"I nod then we sit at a table
"So how have you been?"she asks and I smile
"Well laura is living with us right now. And we just had a baby girl named rachel"I smile then frown
"What's wrong?"she asks me and grabs my hand across the table
"Ok it's just that ever since rachel was born I feel like laura and I are not going anywhere"I sigh
"Wait so you didn't want rachel? Are you and laura married?"Carly asks
"No we're not married and the thing is that when I first found out laura was pregnant I freaked out. Then I talked to my brother and he told me to suck it up for laura. But now that rachel is actually here I'm feeling that maybe things went to fast"I look at Carly and she looks at me
"Sorry ross"she rubs her thumb over my hand and i intertwine our fingers and we both smile
LAURA POV
I get in my car and drive back home in tears.
A few minutes later I walk into the house and see ryland and Rocky talking
"What did you say to ross?!?!?"I yell at them and they look at me confused
"Say about what"ryland asks
"That ross didn't want rachel?"they look at me still confused
"We have never talked to him about that"now I'm the confused one. I storm upstairs and start crying. I grab rachel and go into my room
"I'm so sorry rach"I cry while hugging her then from downstairs I hear a door slam and muffled voices. I lay down with rachel in my arms and pretend to sleep. I listen to someone walking in. He takes rachel and puts her in her room. Then he comes back and gets in the bed. He leans over and tries to kiss me but I turn so he can't.
All night I get up and take care of rachel. Ross was no help at all. Rachel started crying at 3 in the morning. I get up and accidentally kick the bed. I look at ross and he wakes up
"Hey"he groans and I ignore him then walk into Rachel's room. I grab Rachel then rock her back to sleep. Then ross walks in
"What's up?"he asks without a shirt
"Well now I'm trying to put your daughter to sleep anything else?"I snap at him and he looks at me a defensive
"What is the matter with you?"he asks
"I don't know why don't you go ask Carly and tell her everything"I turn my back to him but he turns me around
"I didn't say anything to Carly what is wrong?"he looks into my eyes
"I heard you and Carly talking. You said you didn't want to be a father"I start crying. He tries to hug me but I back away
"No ross stop. I can't take it anymore. You told me that nothing happened between you and her while I was at Yale but just promise me that it wasn't a lie"we stare at each other and ross doesn't say anything. I walk past him and go downstairs still holding rachel. We get into a cab and drive to UW Wyoming.
ROSS POV
I run after laura and get into my car. First I drive to her parents house. When I get there I frantically knock on the door
"Ross? What are you doing here this early?"her mom answers the door rubbing her eyes
"Is laura here?"I ask ignoring her question
"No I haven't seen her in like a year"she rubs her eyes
"Oh sorry to bother you"I walk back into my car and drive all around looking for her
LAURA POV
I fine Edith's apartment then knock on the door
"Omg laura?"she answers the door looking all tired
"Can we stay here for a few days?"she nods and I start crying. She lets me in and I sit on the couch with Rachel still in my arms. She takes a seat next to me
"What's wrong?"she asks and rubs my back
"I caught ross talking to Carly and he said that he didn't love rachel"I start crying then I look down at rachel who is asleep
