I ran as fast as I could.

"Cal!"
I shouted out as I saw a body lying on the ground.

"Beep-Boop!"
BD-1 resounded, jumping up and down.

I fell down on my knees, looking at Cal.

I slowly moved his head to face me, lifting his body up to push it against me slightly.

I saw that he breathed, leading me to sight in relief.

"(Y/N).."
"Why do you push yourself so hard?"
I asked him rhetorically while looking around, seeing clone troopers lying on the ground, dead.

I picked him up and waited for BD to jump on my shoulder.

"But I.. did it."
Cal said, smiling at me in exhaustion.
"Close your eyes. I'll get us out of here."

I carried Cal all the way into the Mantis, meeting Cere and Greez who were concerned about him just as much as I was.

"Thank good he is alive!"
Greez stated, clapping his hands together.

"Let me help you."
Cere offered me her help, opening the door to Cal's room.

"Greez, can you make something warm to eat? Cal is empowered. When he wakes up, he should eat something."
I asked Greez.
"Will do."

"Cere, can you get me a towel so I can wash away the dirt on his face and hands?"
"Of course, (Y/N)."

I laid Cal down on his bed, taking off some of his clothes so he wouldn't feel too hot.

"Here."
Cere said after entering the room, handing me a wet towel and a bowl of water.
"Thanks."

Cere stood next to me while I cleaned up Cal.

"Do you know what happened to him?"
She asked, leading me to sight.
"He overstrained himself. He fought against too many clone troopers. I'm happy he made it, but if the next wave arrived, we wouldn't be so lucky."
I answered, looking at her in concern.

"Alright.. it's still hot, but Cal isn't yet awake, so it's okay."
Greez said as he entered the room with two plates.
"I placed ours on the table, Cere."
He informed her, leading her to nod.

"I'll wait for him to wake up. I'll tell you when he does."
"Thank you, enjoy your meal."
"Thanks, you too."

I looked at the plates on the table that Greez placed there before leaving, before looking at Cal.

He slowly opened his eyes, leading me to smile.

I moved closer to his face, placing my forehead on his.
"Welcome back."

Cal only smiled at me, leading me to kiss him gently.

"Thanks.."
He murmured before I moved back.

"Do you feel like sitting up and eat a little bit?"
I asked him, leading him to nod and slowly get up by himself.

I helped him up regardless, causing him to hug me.
"If it wasn't for you, (Y/N).."

I looked him into the eyes, smiling at him.

"I know you would have done the same for me."
I said, kissing his cheek quickly before turning to the table where Greez left the two plates.

I handed him his plate, looking at him.

"Enjoy your meal, I'll be right back."
I remarked, standing up.
"Where are you up to?"

"I'm going to wash my hands and take off my jacket. I was in a rush, getting you back in form."
I told him, leading him to nod.
"Alright."

I left the room, walking into the bathroom past Cere and Greez.

"Is he awake?"
Cere asked.
"Yes, he just stood up, I guess he starts to eat any moment."

"Guess we will visit him after we all finished up. There's no rush after all."
She informed me, leading me to nod.

I entered Cal's room after I washed my hands, seeing him taking off his clothes.

"Oh, sorry, I should have knocked. I didn't mean to burst in.."
"Don't mind it, everything's okay."
Cal said, casually continuing to take off his clothes.

"Do you want to change into your pyjamas?"
I asked him, leading him to turn around with his bare chest.
"Yes.. it's dark outside after all.. and I feel tired. I'm sure that I'll fall asleep after I ate."
He said, smiling at me while putting his pyjamas on.

I sat down on a chair, watching Cal until he sat down on his bed again.
"Let's enjoy our meal together, now shall we?"
He said, leading me to smile and nod.

"How did you know I was there?"
Cal asked me, leading me to shake my head.

"I sensed you were inside the construct, but I didn't know where exactly. That's why I searched for you. Luckily, it didn't take all too long for me to find and rescue you."
I explained, leading him to nod at me.
"I see.."

"You don't have any major wounds, but your body could hurt due to exhaustion."
"Yeah, I know. Muscle soreness, right?"
"Yup."

After Cal ate up, he laid down on the bed.

I placed my plate next to his, sitting down on his bed again.

"I hope you rest well, my dear Cal."
I muttered, kissing his forehead before placing mine on his.

"Will you sleep next to me tonight?"
Cal asked, making room on his bed for me.

I smiled brightly at him before lying down next to him, pulling him into an embrace.

"I won't say no to this."

He moved up to me, placing his head on my arm.
"Thank you.."

I kissed him on his lips several times, muttering afterwards,
"Not for this one."
