The phones of everyone working in the lab 7 rang simultaneously. It was Vince who called them.
" Everyone.. come to the lab ASAP. It's an emergency. " He told them.
He and Dan were both waiting near to the elevator. Something she said woke him from sleep.
" I hope you are right. " Said Vince
" Me too ." Dan replied
They waited there for about 15 minutes for others to join. Everyone was there except Emily
" Where is Emily ? " Asked Vince
" I think I know where she is, I will find her." said Dan
" No. We can try calling her from the lab. " Said Vince
They went into the elevator, Dan waited until the door closed to see Emily was coming.
All this time Emily and Wayne were talking to each other. They haven't left the park.
" So how did you end up here ? " Emily asked Wayne
" During my time in prison, they offered my friend a job, and he recommended me to them. We were given the option of getting out of jail if we worked here for three years. A clean slate. So we took it. "
" It was perfect for me, no contact with outside world, no TV, no phone, no internet. Just like prison. The only difference was this time I get paid. " He continued
" So what about you ? " He asked
" Well they contacted me, and I couldn't turn this kind of opportunity. " She replied
" So you are ok with all this no internet and TV ? " He looked at her
" Actually it's different for us. Each of us has a phone in our room, so we can communicate with our family. We have access to the internet, strictly supervised. And we do have TV and cable in our rooms. " she replied
" So none of you guys have family ? " She asked
" Well yeah!! But it's a bit complicated. None of us are really close with our family. Like my friend Steve, he is divorced. So nobody will come looking for us. Nobody will miss us." Wayne replied
" So what do you do when you get bored ?" She tried to change the subject
" Well I play games. If I get bored playing I probably take a nap. " Said Wayne
" Oh ok " she laughed
" So can I ask you something ? " Wayne looked around
" Yeah.. sure. What is it ? " Emily replied with curiosity
" What do you exactly do in there, in lab 7 ? " He asked
" Well..... It's classified. I don't have the authority to reveal it." She replied
" Oh... Ok. Forget that I asked you about it. " he replied
" It's no problem. " Said Emily
" Can I ask you something ? " She looked at him
" Sure.. " he replied
" We never talked before yesterday. But did you noticed me before ? " Emily asked
