"Mia, come on get up," my mom said while she shook me awake.

"Do I have to," I whine while pulling the covers off my head.

"Yes," she says and takes the covers off me.

"But I am not feeling well, I have a headache and the biggest cramp ever," I say and give her puppy dog eyes.

"Oh alright, stay home." She says and hugs me. "You won't see me the rest of the day because I will be at work, but if you need me don't be afraid to call."

She breaks away from the hug and I say goodbye and wave. There were many reasons why I didn't want to go to school today. The first reason is that I don't want to see Ace and be present at school. Who knows what he might say or do? Second, my cramps are hurting me and I want to devour all of the cookies downstairs.

****
It was around noon. At the moment I was downstairs watching some Gilmore Girls on the TV while eating some cookies and a PB&J sandwich. That I made myself. I also took some pain meds for my cramps, so I'm feeling a little better.

As comfortable as I was someone ruined it by knocking on the front door. I go and open the door.

"Ace," I say practically confused. "What are you- uh why are you here."

"Well you weren't in school, and I asked Alexis and Gracie and they told me they haven't seen you. So I came to check in on you." He says while pacing around the room.

"Well here I am, so you can go back to school now," I say as I cross my arms over my chest.

"Nah I'm good and besides I only have one period left at that hell hole," he says and copies my action.

"Okay, then why did you come and check on me," I ask him. "Was little Ace worried about me."

"N no I wasn't," he stutters.

"Admit it you were worried about me," I say.

"Yes Mia I was deeply concerned about where you were," he says while doing air quotes.

"Whatever you say," I say while plopping back down on the couch.

"Ace I'm going to give you three choices," I say looking at him.

"Shoot," he says still standing.

"One you either take a seat next to me, two I stay here and you go back to school, or three we get out of here and do something," I say.
