"And I want nothing just to fall into
The safe heaven of your arms"

Rohaan:
It's been another week to this month since I've been back from Pakistan. As this week ends it marks one and a half month since I came back here. It felt like time has just flown away. Like I opened the window and these days fly away like snow in the air. These days just ran away so smoothly that it's hard to believe that it's already over a month since I have left my country and my wife behind. I've started working from the very next day as I didn't want more pending work on my plate. Being away for a month is just too much to handle, but I'm not complaining as that one month was just the best month of my life. I glanced at the clock and it read past to twelve in the noon. I sighed as I glanced at the pile of files that were scattered on my table. I have taken few of a cases and they're taking quite of my time. Mostly my nights are spent in working and making sure that I'm well prepared for the court hearing. I haven't been able to call Hareem in this past week and I felt guilty. I'm already guilty to leave her behind when we just got married. I've been in contact with Pakistan embassy to know about the paperwork. It is still in process. And I hate it so much. If thing I hate about this process is that it takes a long time to complete. A knock sounded in the room and I looked up to find Neha entering. She smiled at me and asked
"I guess you haven't eaten your lunch". I nodded my head at her and she flashed a bag of take out in my direction. I took it and found my favourite club sandwich. I could hear my stomach ramble at the sight of food. I dug in and she asked in between eating her lunch
"How's the paperwork?" I sipped some water and said
"It's going on. They'll contact me soon". She nodded her head and we spent the next few minutes quietly eating our lunch.

Hareem:
I was back home now. After I went to meet mama, I stayed there for a day or two as I missed her and I didn't like the feeling I feel when I walk into our empty room. I had a long talk with Mama about Chachi's behavior. I still remember what she said
"Don't take her words to heart Hareem. She has always been like this". I propped my head up from her lap and asked
"Why is she like this?" Mama sighed as she didn't want me to find answer to that question. She reached for my hand and squeezed it and said
"Don't worry about that. I'll never let anyone hurt you". I nodded at her as I was still not satisfied as to why would Chachi be this cold and indifferent towards me and mama. I can't recall a single moment of my life where I've seen mama fighting or arguing with Chachi. They don't argue which is a good sign, but they don't talk either which is the thing that is really un-digestable. If they don't hate each other then why they both not have a simple relationship. I know that a relation between them is really questionable as we live in a desi society so it's quite common to have some conflicts, but the type of household I grew up in was different. We love each other and stand with each other in hardest of times. I have already seen it with my own eyes on that day. I know this family and I know that Dado would never be bias towards her daughter in laws. My train of thought was broken as mama muttered
"You should rest for a while now Hareem". I nodded my head at her and closed my eyes unwillingly.

I was preparing the evening tea when Phupho came inside the kitchen. She asked
"You need help beta". I shook my head and she smiled at me. I poured the tea into the cups and took the tray to the living room as everyone was sitting there. Hafsa was sitting there doing her work as she typed away something in her laptop furiously. Phupho smacked her in the forehead and said
"You should help Hareem. She's been working all on her own". Hafsa pouted at her and looked apologetically at me. I shrugged it off and said to phupho
"It's fine. I wasn't doing much". Hafsa looked at Dilawar Uncle. I should start calling him Baba now. He has been a father figure to me since Baba died.
"Baba look at Mama. She's always angry at me". Baba looked at Phupho and said
"You should've scold my daughter this much Warisha". Phupho shook her head and muttered under her breath
"I don't understand you both. I wish my son was here". A sudden gloomy feeling lingered in the atmosphere as everyone looked at Phupho. I looked down at my lap and could feel tears brimming at the back of my eyes. Hafsa seemed to notice the thick tension in the air so she decided to cut it and said
"Alright everybody let's not be sad. Sometimes I wonder if you'll miss me like this when I'll get married". Everybody laughed at her antics and phupho pulled her cheeks. She smiled sheepishly at her and just like that we all were back to normal.

I applied the cream on my face and put the bottle back on the dressing slab. I look at my phone and opened it to message him. It's been a week since I have last talk to him. He seemed to be busy so I didn't disturb him further. I started typing and presses sent. I looked at the message again and read it aloud
'How are you? It's been a week since we last talked. I miss you'.
I sighed and went to sleep completely unaware of the surprise that was coming for me.

I woke up around ten in the morning and went down to help in the kitchen. I found Hafsa there already prepared tea. I greeted her and she beamed at me and then said
"I decided to help you before you complain to my brother. He's whipped for you". I laughed at her as she rolled her eyes at the mention of her brother. I started making the breakfast. Soon enough we all were eating and chatting as the day slowly trudged away.

I was in my room when Hafsa came inside my room after knocking. She looked at me and asked
"Hey are you busy?" I shook my head at her and she sat down on the bed. She said
"I have to buy some things for me, so I was wondering if you would come with me". I nodded my head at her and she beamed and said
"Okay I'll go get changed. You should changed into something nice too". She gave me a wink before she left. I looked at her retreating figure confusedly. She acted weird.

"How much more you want to shop Hafsa?". I whined at her and she just ignored me. We've been walking and coming in and out of shops for over three hours now. My legs were about to give out. I've never been a fan of shopping. If anything I hate it. Hafsa glanced at me and sighed. She threw her arms over my shoulder and said
"Okay okay let's sit for a while and I'll call mama then we'll leave for home okay". I nodded my head at her and we both sat down in the cafeteria. She called at home and she deliberately went a little away from me to talk. She looked at me and again smiled at me mischievously. I shrugged at her behavior and went back to waiting for her.

We arrived at home around seven in the evening. I was very tried and just needed the softness of my bed. Hafsa came out of the car and we both headed inside. As soon as we both entered inside I heard voices coming from the living room. I thought it was some guests at her house but as I walked through the door I couldn't believe my eyes as I glanced at the person before me. There sat Rohaan onto the sofa as he softly gazed at me. My breath was stuck in my throat. Hafsa walked to him and hugged her brother. He smiled at her and she said
"Welcome back". He smiled at her and then looked at me. I said
"You didn't tell me that you were coming". He shrugged and said
"It was a surprise". I nodded my head at him and phupho said
"I think you both should go to your room". We both nodded at her and climbed up the stairs. We both walked inside our room and as soon as we entered inside the boundary of our room he pulled me in his arms. I sighed as his arms wrapped tightly around me. I laid my head on his chest and breathed in his scent. He gently squeezed my body and one his hand got tangled in my hair as he ran his fingers through my hair. I muttered
"I missed you". He pulled away just a little bit away and said
"Me too". I hugged him back and said
"You should have called me to let me know". He chuckled and said
"I wanted to surprise. The look on your face was just so priceless and worth not telling you". I fake glared at him. He pulled my cheeks and then held my hand and pulled to bed. He sat down beside me and said
"I also have something else to tell you". I nodded my head and what he said next was enough to make me happy to unlimited bounds
"Your visa has been approved you're coming with me". I launched myself at him and he hugged me tighter. I pulled away and asked
"How did that happen?" He shrugged and said
"I don't know. I just received a call from them a day before and decided to come here to take you with me". I beamed at him and said
"It's so overwhelming". He tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear and said in a low voice
"I can't wait take you with me". I squeezed his hand back and then asked
"Let's go downstairs for dinner. You must be hungry".
