Chapter Eight

"Well, if it isn't little Lockwood," Klaus taunted as my brother walked inside the house behind Caroline. He was carrying something wrapped up in a blanket. The sword no doubt. "Come to show how laughably impotent you are against me?"

"Klaus," I warned. I was laying on the couch while Klaus sat on the coffee table. He was facing me as we talked about random stuff.

"I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure," Tyler replied. "Found this in your attic." And my brother revealed the large sword.

"And you think finding the sword brings you closer to the cure?" Klaus asked. I furrowed my brows. Wasn't that the whole point? The sword has the directions or whatever that Elena and them needed to find the cure.

"You tell me. I was playing around with the handle on the ride over and I found this," Ty replied, walking close to Klaus and showing him something. Ty removed a cloth from around the handle showing osme type of engraved pattern. Kind of creepy.

"And what do you think this is?" Klaus asked, standing up.

"It's called a cryptex," Caroline chimed in, walking over to join Ty's side. "I've seen The Da Vinci Code. You turn the different sides to different symbols to get the translation on the other side. And with the magic of the Internet, Elena sent over these."

She walked back over and grabbed a stack of papers, revealing pictures of Jerem'y tattoo. I smiled, it was pretty awesome looking. "So now all we have to do is cryptex away," Caroline finished. "If you happened to want to help, we wouldn't stop you."

"Right, well, might I suggest using the magic of the Internet to purchase an Armaic-to-English dictionary from your nearest retailer?" Klaus suggested and I laughed. I knew it wouldn't be that easy.

"What's Aramaic?" Tyler asked looking at his girlfriend.

"It's a dead language. It hasn't been used since biblical times," Caroline said and I smirked to myself. They were going to need Klaus' help.

"Qetsiyah's native tongue, I'm guessing," Klaus said. Qtsiyah being the witch who buried Silas with the cure after she loved him and he betrayed her with some other woman. "You know even if you had the best dictionary in the world it could take days to translate. Perhaps weeks," my boyfriend continued and then began speaking in a different language after he sat down on the edge of the couch next to me. I sat up and rested my head on his lap.

"What does that mean?" Caroline asked.

"If only you spoke Aramaic," Klaus smirked and I giggled, shaking my head. Of course he knew Aramaic. Tyler and Caroline shared stressed out looks while I grabbed Klaus by his chin, forcing his cocky face to look at me. "I think it's very sexy that you know so much," I told him honestly and he smirked.

"Well, love, being on this Earth as long as I have, you're destined to know a lot," he said and I pecked his lips.

"Or everything," I smirked and he smiled, chuckling.

"Okay. This is it. We've translated all the symbols on the tattoo," Caroline was speaking to my brother while Klaus and I sat on the couch. He sat and I sat between his legs, playing with his fingers as we watched the other couple do some hard work.

"'Passage inside requires a young senator and a pretty flower'," Caroline translated. She was looking at flashcards that she wrote the ranslations on and Ty was looking at one too and holding a picture of Jeremy's tattoo.
