Blight

This world we share will never be a better place,

so long as it's subjected to the human race.

Races clash and senseless wars rage,

same ole history, just a different page.

Greed, power, and religion often get the blame,
excuses by the professed civil and tame.

Politics and government twist ideals for gain,

personal agendas desecrate and profane.

All of this is to mask our ancient human plight,

a plague which stalks by generation with blight.

For the truth is frightening to understand,

the root of all evil is the heart of man.
