My Flower

So lovely a Flower which the Gardener has planted,

one which I dare not pick or take for granted.

 .

With such fair petals and an enchanting bloom,

this Flower of mine will keep away all gloom.

I'll tend to the soil and wave away bees,

even brave the briars to pluck out weeds.

Sure there are other flowers in this earthly bouquet,

but none that make me flutter on a breezy Spring day.

 .

As Summer scorches I will offer all my water and shade,

to help my Flower's beauty flourish and prevade.

When Fall comes and changes my Flower's look,

I'll steal even more glances like a naughty little crook.

And if Winter's cold touch threatens with wilt,

I'll wrap my Flower up with my very last quilt.

 .

For my Flower is such a wondrous marvel to behold,

more so than dreams and fancies if the truth be told.
