My Pardon

Providence knew even of my anguish,

which kept my joy bound.

Never did I suspect such a lifting pardon,

nor one as inspiring as you.

.

Lift not your spell that has both bound me,

and set my restored spirit free.

Let my eyes know you even in sleep,

grant my waking thoughts to walk with you always.

.

My sun rises with but one gaze upon you,

two and no dawn has ever been brighter.

Pleasant have the daily burdens become,

that are borne with your remembrance.

.

My unworthy heart beats with gratitude,

cherishing the life you live, adoring the glimpses shared.

Happiness will dwell at my side forever,

so long as your smile never fades.

.

I know now only the darkness of night,

because your reach conquered the shadows.

I pray the Divine to bless each of your steps,

and hope they track without end.

.

May life be yours and all the world too.
