Love's Fabric

To deserve one such as you in the now,
surely in a past life or two long gone by,
I did something right, or at least did try.

I languished for so many moons before,
in dreams I thought to be taunts by Fate,
feeling ever spurned as the hours grew late.

Though not until your presence was I aware,
my supplications had reached celestial places,
and I was standing within the Creator's graces.

Wrapped mind, body, and soul were you and I,
as if love could be the very fabric for seams,
threaded together by hearts aglow with gleams.

Longing now only for moments which we share,
with you I savor each and every special new day,
holding on to what completes me in every way.
