Eclipsed

How does a polished star recapture its glory,
when the dark of the Moon hides its story?

Can the luster of the cosmos be fully restored,
when all that once enticed is no longer adored?

Have the heavens forgotten the eons of yore,
or by the comet's glance do they simply ignore?

Do the rings of Saturn serve only to ensnare,
or is their purpose to seek attention not there.

Are meteors hurled aimlessly out of hurtful spite,
because the sneaking eclipse covets the Sun's light?

Will black holes and nebulae be all that's left behind,
because orbits collided instead of remaining aligned?
