Vessel

Blue sky oceans make my spirit want to set sail,
with you as my vessel to escape upon life's tide.
A random star of the night will be our destination,
away from the Siren's call of courses oft tried.

Let distant horizons of dawn's early wonder beckon,
so long as in each other we have our port of call.
Together we'll have no boundaries nor fly any flag,
we'll plunder our own treasures from spring 'til fall.

Oh, if only Fate's anchors weren't sunk so very deep,
fastened with links that grasp and pull to ensnare.
Perhaps then an ordained gale could inspire the mast,
to set us free upon the currents without woe of fare.
