Dear Diary,
It's been a few hours since we set up camp inside the portal. The portal closed shortly after we came through, and we found ourselves in the middle of a forest, the waters and foliage of a very large, dark marsh surrounding us. This marsh radiates a heavy energy, but it's not particularly bad; we feel pretty safe here so far.
The flora and fauna in this world are unlike anything we've ever seen. The towering trees have vines that glow in the dark, and the flowers emit a soft hum that's both soothing and eerie. We've encountered a couple of creatures that live here, and they've all been very calm. What looks like an ordinary swamp becomes more mystical and magical the more you look around.
The creatures we saw were massive in size. They had a cube shaped, gelatinous appearance and moved at an extremely slow pace. We watched them for quite some time, and they seemed to be unaware of our presence. Despite their size, they didn't seem to pose any threat. Other than that, there have been sounds and calls; they seem to be coming from a distance, and we've seen no other life.
There's still been no sign of our friends. We've not lost hope but were more optimistic than we should have been. Munin and I will try to sleep in this spot tonight. It's getting dark, and we need rest; we don't know what tomorrow will look like.
If there's time, I'll write more when we wake up.
