Dear Diary,

I have to keep a close eye on Munin.

We had been on our continued path to the city for about an hour, and Munin suddenly paused. He claimed he had seen a glowing orb and heard it calling out his name. After watching for some time he flew off towards it faster than I could keep up with.

It took me ten minutes or more to find him, and when I did I froze. Munin was wrapped in slimy vines, still staring at a yellow glowing orb. I did not act nearly as quick as I should have, but I finally found the right spell to cast to get Munin out of this, I used a quick incantation to turn stun the wispy orb, and then another to paralyze it for a short time. I have never cast either of these spells, and wasn't even sure they would work on this creature but it did, and I freed my friend.

Once we felt safe from the monster, I broke down, begging Munin to tell me why he had left and what had happened. Strangely, he said that the wisp was calling to him by name, telling him that this journey would be long and dangerous. It also told him to follow it, that it had a warm and dry place to rest. He felt as though he couldn't control himself; he had to follow it.

The orb finally guided him to wear I found him, he was instantly wrapped and vines and only remembers being frozen, unable to look away, and like his energy was being drained by this thing.

What world have we gotten ourselves into?
