Chapter Two

It was early Friday morning and for some reason I could not seem to fall asleep last night. Something about my nerves was keeping me up, just yesterday I admitted to my parents that Tessa and I were staying in California for the summer by ourselves and for some odd reason they were okay with that. Which was a little unsettling, my parents were usually extremely protective and for the most part strict but for them to be okay with something like this was quite the opposite. I looked at the clock, it read that it was only seven thirty meaning Tessa wouldn't be up for another two hours.

As I sat up in bed I realized it was the first morning I woke up finally recognizing where I was. It had taken me awhile to get to know my new surroundings, but I now knew where the silverware drawer was and where the towel cabinet was. All my clothing items were organized in their own drawers as they we at home. Tonight was the concert and Tessa had already had her outfit picked out, so I slowly worked my way over to the four drawer dresser. My clothes were placed neatly in the drawers, but that wouldn't last long, as soon as I need a shirt I couldn't find the piles would be destroyed in seconds. I searched around for my black top and a pair of high waisted shorts along with a tan hat, laying them out on the bed careful not to wrinkle them.

Walking to the bathroom, I grabbed a towel and my caddy

Walking to the bathroom, I grabbed a towel and my caddy. The bathroom that was, for all intents and purposes, mine was very small and set up like the rest of the house. The walls were ab off white with white tiles and dark accents. I set my caddy on the inside of the shower, that was also a bathtub, and plugged my phone into the speakers that were set up.

Tessa had a cousin that was around early high school age, which explained why there was modern technology in a house they didn't spend much time in. After I turned Spotify on to play Purpose, I got into the shower.

Hours later as I scrolled through Twitter on my laptop Tessa took a shower and got ready. Although she was much more excited than I was for the concert she procrastinated getting ready as she does with everything. So, while I was fully dressed with my hair in loose curls and makeup done she was scrambling to get everything ready.

Justin was currently a trending topic on Twitter. Apparently, he had refused to give a young fan an autograph after his last concert. This had been something that everyone, from the looks of it, came to expect so I paid it no attention. I shook my head and clicked off the link as Tessa came down the stairs, finally dressed.

"Why the head shake?" She was drying her hair with a towel, her make up fully done.

"Waiting for your hair to dry?" She nodded and waited for me to answer her question, as she took the spot next to me on the couch, "This article says that Justin refused an autograph for a little girl, but by the looks of it it is not surprising."

She rolled her eyes, shaking her head in agreement, "Oh well. He's a person, they either learn to accept that and treat him like one or continue to be disappointed."

I shrugged and gave her outfit a once over, similar to mine she was in a grey lowcut top with high waisted shorts . I nodded in approval, noting that we both silently agreed on the casual attire.

"It's six now and the concert starts in about an hour and a half, we should leave now. There won't be much traffic, considering we will probably be the only ones old enough to drive and drink there. Are you ready?" While talking Tessa dug in her purse for her keys and the tickets.

I nodded and made my way to the door, waiting for her to finally find the two and glance around the house to make sure everything was set for us to leave.

Getting into the car, the atmosphere seemed to change a little. It stopped being relaxing and started being a little anxious. Never had I been to a concert that was for someone so big or whose demographic was so young and I could sense it was going to be an experience.

Once at the venue I had quickly come to conclusion that this would be my last Justin Bieber concert. Through the openings I had continuously been elbowed in the back and pushed forward about three feet. Next to me Tessa was sending dirty looks to each of the fifteen year old girls that stood directly behind us.

As the lights in the stadium dimmed, we were set forward another two feet and the first notes of Mark My Words played. The stadium filled with screams and the girls that surrounded us began to jump on their feet. Beside me, Tessa sang along with Justin's voice and swayed along with the rhythm of the music and I slowly joined.

As they went through the setlist my legs grew tired, but I did not dare try to make my way through the crowd for a break. The next hours went by slowly as we enjoyed the feel and sound of the music, and as it came to an end the stadium began to empty.

Background music played leaving Tessa to speak over it and what was left of the crowd, "I got a text from a friend that there is an after party at one of the backup dancer's place. Wanna go?"

I hesitated but not because I didn't want to go to the party, but because we were not dressed for a party.

"We'd have to change." Looking down at our clothing Tessa nodded in agreement. We didn't know what kind of people would be there but we could guess it wouldn't be anyone not of drinking age. As we made our way back to the house I quietly wondered how she knew someone that could get us into this party.

Turning my head in her direction I asked, "Who is this girl?"

"Uh, Anastasia Karanikolaou. Winter break I went to Big Bear with her, Andrea Russet, and some other people, remember? She's friends with Kylie." Her explanation was one I'd heard before aside from the last part.

"Jenner?" Her responsive hum was a shock to me, "Fuck. Why the hell have you kept me in fucking Ohio this whole time?"

"You went to Florida with your family for the winter." She was right, I chose to go to Florida instead of Big Bear for the winter because I hated snow but now I was regretting that choice. Not that Kylie was actually there but fuck.

As we pulled up to the house I silently got out and went to my bedroom in search for a dress to wear. I owned plenty of party clothes, but none that I deemed worthy enough for the potential celebrities I might run into.

I finally came across the dress I had worn to my twenty second birthday and quickly changed into it and black, suede heels.

Before meeting Tessa back in the car I touched up some of my make up and put on false eyelashes

Before meeting Tessa back in the car I touched up some of my make up and put on false eyelashes. In the car, Tessa was wearing a blush colored halter dress with cutouts on the side and ready to go.

We made our way to the house of the backup dancer who still remained nameless and talked about how the night might play out. We had both brought our debit card in case we needed to get an uber and a few other essentials that we were doing a run through of as we pulled into a driveway of a pretentious mansion that had music blaring and car parked every where along the front of the property.

"Damn. Whoever's place this is looks like they know how to throw a party."
