Chapter Thirty

Feeling the air rush past me, I didn't have time to let a scream slip past my lips, simply because by the time I found my voice, I was already wrapped tightly in Seth's warm embrace.

Letting out a relieved breath, I opened my eyes slowly, and I met Seth's shining eyes filled with nothing but amusement. "I told you I'd catch you," He spoke, sounding genuinely pleased with himself.

Returning his smile, I blushed lightly as I remembered my current position in his arms, "We should get going before my dad finds out I'm sneaking out..." I suggested softly, keeping my voice soft, worried about the chance Della might not be able to distract him if he was curious about talking outside.

Seth laughed lightly, and slowly released his hand that held my legs, letting me down slowly, making sure that he dragged my body down his. 

When my toes touched the ground, my body tightly pressed against his, I felt my breath catch in the back of my throat as I stared up into his eyes. With our eyes locked together, I gripped onto the front of Seth's shirt, and wanted so badly to press my lips onto his and forget everything else, but deep down, I knew that it was too risky to be right outside my house. 

Seth must have noticed this, because he quickly put a small space in between us, grabbed tightly onto my hand, and led us towards the cover of the trees, avoiding the pathway all together.

As we walked, Seth was always sure to move a branch or bush out of the way of my walking path, and made sure to keep a firm grip on my hand. "M'lady," Seth spoke softly, his hand holding a branch out of my way as he encouraged me to walk forward.

"Thanks...again," I whispered softly. Laughing lightly, Seth followed behind me as I made my way through the tree, "Where are we going anyways that made us walk through the part of the forest that doesn't have a pathway?" I wondered, curious as to where he was taking me.

Rubbing his thumb along my hand slowly, I couldn't help but smile up at him as he sent me a beaming smile, "I want you to be surprised," He explained quickly, taking his place once again slightly in front of me.
