Questioning Myself

Aubrey

Today is the day I have to tell Ryder that Hayden and I are engaged. I don't really know how he will react to it.

"Hey cutie, Nate is here." Hayden said from downstairs.

I walked down the stairs to be greeted by Nate.

"Wow somebody looks happy." Nate said smiling up at me as I walked down the stairs.

"Yeah I know." I said looking towards Hayden smiling.

"So I'm here because of my dad." Nate said looking at me.

"What's wrong now?" I said looking back at Nate.

"He is getting more restless and soon he is going to kill you himself." Nate said.

"Well tell him to wait till I get married." I said walking past Nate towards the kitchen.

"Wait getting married?!" Nate said following me into the kitchen with Hayden behind him.

"Yeah Aubrey and I are getting married." Hayden said causing Nate to look at me if it was true and I nodded my head yes.

"Are you serious?!" Nate said sounding jealous.

"Aubrey can I talk to you alone outside?" Nate said glaring at me.

I looked at Hayden and then shook my head that I would be fine. So Nate and I walked outside onto the porch.

"Your getting married?!" Nate said again slamming his hands down on the table .

"Yes, I am. Is there something wrong with that?" I said crossing my arms over my chest.

"Yes there is Aubrey!" Nate said still pissed.

"Well I made my choice I picked who I wanted." I said looking out towards the woods.

"What does Ryder think about this?" Nate said looking at me.

"I don't know because I didn't tell him yet." I said looking at Nate.

"Yeah well I thought you loved him." Nate said looking at me.

"I did." I said look at him.

"Your lying Aubrey." Nate said looking at me in the eyes.

"No I'm not." I said realizing that Nate knew me to well.

"Aubrey, I ws your friend once I know when you are lying." Nate said looking at me.

"Ok Nate so maybe I still do but that doesn't mean that I should just run back to him." I said.

"I know but Aubrey, he loves you a lot." Nate said.

"Yeah well Hayden loves me a lot too." I said looking back at Nate.

"Yeah and I love you too." Nate said turning to look at the woods.

"But I know that we will never happen because I screwed that up years ago." He said turning back around to face me.

"Nate I forgive you for what happened back then." I said.

"Yeah well I think you made the wrong choice picking Hayden." Nate said looking at me.

"No I didn't because I know that Hayden won't break my heart like Ryder did." I said glaring at Nate.

"Well Ryder didn't do it on purpose." Nate said.

Then Nate's head quickly snapped turns the woods. I heard the sound to and turned my head towards it.

Then Ryder walked out towards Nate and I.

"Good your here, why don't you try to change her mind because I can't." Nate said walking away from me.

"About what?" Ryder said.

"About me getting married to Hayden." I said to Ryder.

As I said it, Ryder looked at me with a hurt expression.

"Your getting married to Hayden." Ryder said.

"Yes I am." I said looking up at him because he was closer to me now.

"Well that means this will be the last time I can do this." Ryder said wrapping his arms around my waist and smashing his lips to mine.

I felt like a ice pop on a hot summer day when he kissed me.

Did I make the right choice picking Hayden?
