I WAS walking through the mall, trying to find the perfect dress for homecoming.

I couldn't believe that I allowed Ava to convince me to go but the thought out Celia's face falling when she saw me with her dream boyfriend, it would be hilarious. Therefore, that was the reason I decided to go. My phone was turned off because I didn't want to deal with anyone today, seeing as it was the only free day I got to spend with myself.

I walked into maybe the tenth shop today and scavenged for a dress. It was hopeless, there was literally nothing. Sighing in defeat, I stalked out the shop and head to the one opposite which surprisingly has slightly less customers.

The dresses were beautiful, just the like the other shops, but they were different, more transparent looking. I was totally sure that I wasn't going to find the one I like so I sighed sadly and made my way out when I came to a halt. A dress beautifully displayed on a mannequin. I was enthralled by its beauty and in a trace as I glided over to the dress. I gingerly touched the fabric and grinned with satisfaction.

"Madame?" I looked over my shoulder to see a shop assistant smiling at me. "Have you found something you like?"

I looked back at the dress and with a soft smile, I replied. "Yes. I have."

I went to Starbucks after a long day of searching the perfect dress. My dress was neatly folded up and packed into a box which was in the boot of my car. I was so afraid to ruining it that I hadn't opened the box and wouldn't until Homecoming.

"What would you like, Miss?" The barista asked with a friendly smile.

Not returning one back, I hand over a five dollars and replied back. "Hot chocolate and a brownie."

Typing in my order, she glanced up. "Anything else?"

"Nothing else." Then I got my change back before I went over to an empty booth, waiting for my order.

As I waited for my order, the door bell chimed and I glanced up to see Celia and her cronies enter with a loud chatter, disturbing other customers in the shop. I rolled my eyes and whipped out my phone and began messaging my girls, who only laughed and sent me their best wishes when I told them who was in Starbucks.

"Oh look," Celia seethed. "It's poor, little Cassandra, once again all alone."

I sighed in annoyance but kept my best poker face on as her minions laughed at me.

"What do you want, Celia?"

She smirked and flicked her hair over her shoulder. "Wanting to know why my former best friend is alone."

"Well it's none of your concern. Seriously, stop obsessing over me. I got enough of it three years ago."

Her friends snickered, trying to bite back their laughter while she glared at me, fuming with anger.
