I Feel The Love

I feel the love

Of the wonderful leaders of our world

Who lecture things like love and unity

Only if you see things like them.

I feel the love

Of the money men and their accountants

Who believe in giving back to their communities

As long as they keep the 90%

And you don't mind where your payment ends up.

I feel the love

Of our organs of security

When they say they can protect us

If you cast off your shadow

And open a peephole to your brain.

I feel the love

Of the people we put in power

Who show us their affection and duty

By telling us, in inextricable gibberish,

"You're worth £15."

I feel the love

Of our religious elite and their yes men

Who give speeches of mercy and compassion

Before throwing the book at us

For our faults and errors.

I feel the love

Of the places my friends are in

To live in such cordial communities

Full of chalk linings and dog crap.

I feel the love

Of our loving and selfless families

Who show the way to lasting joy

Is to give ourselves to servitude for generations

And be blind to our own desires and needs

Because, "It's best for everyone."

But I feel the most love

When I give it to myself.

When I pay inflated prices

To apothecaries who hand me meds

That help me smile and wake up

'Cause I'd be too numb otherwise.

Oh, life is glorious

And I feel so fine.
