Roses.

Roses.

Roses.

And then if possible more roses.

Utterly, ridiculous amounts of roses.

The colors vary. Red. Pink. Purple. Yellow. White.

"He really wants your forgiveness, honey." my dad chuckled. It was Wednesday morning and imagine my face when I came down backpack over my shoulder walking into bouquet upon bouquet of roses. My dad was accidentally spilled tea into one as he tripped over one on the ground. My waffles were non-edible anymore since a rose drooped down on it when I tipped over the vase by accident. Mack came gliding down the rail and almost fell into the vases.

"He can't buy me." I scowl.

"I know. But he did apologize." he reasons.

"Perche lo stai aiutando? Ha rubato il mio primo bacio e tutto quello che vuoi che io faccia e lo perdoni!" I seethe furiously.

(Why are you helping him? He stole my first kiss and all you want me to do is forgive him!)

Mack was looking confused at my words. She never learned Italian because mother never taught her at a young age like Harrison and I. She died before we had the chance so I taught her what I could and then she just got off that. Italian was my first language because my father and mother mostly spoke it around the house.

"Mack took care of that. You were in the bathroom. She almost punched his face, poor kid, but when I tried to stop her he told me he deserved It." he shrugged and moved the roses over to look at my reaction. I was quite surprised and I moved a couple of the flowers over to finally see Mack.

"You did that?" I question.

"Yes. It isn't like I had a choice." she says in a nonchalant tone.

"Of course it matters." I scoff.

"Think of it as payback." she shrugged.

"For what?" I urged.

"For letting me win in Chopsticks." she smirks and I glare playfully at her.

"Alright, sorellina. Let's go." I ushered my sister out the door.

(Little sister)

She grinned at me and headed to the car. I started the engine and we were off to school.

"No." I answer and look from left to right to make sure no one is listening in on our conversations.

"I won't be able to protect you." Vinnie shrugs.

"I know." I shrug my eyes set ahead on the halls that have clubs and other posters attached onto the walls.

"Okay. Well I will see you at tomorrow." Vinnie winks in a playful flirtatious manner and walks away swaying her hips purposely that I laugh out loud, catching the attention of a few by-passers. Half of them look at me like I am new here. The others just stare then walk away.

I scurry off to my car with my head low until I bump into someone. I look up surprise when the person catches me. I instantly recognize him and back-up.
