Chapter 19: Gail and Rennan

I blinked twice. What did he just say? He's Franz Gandia? Gandia? Ang daddy ni Blaise at Kristel?

"Good morning, sir" I greeted bago ko pa makalimutan ang manners ko. He smiled then reached for my hand na tinanggap ko naman.

"Good morning too, hijo. I've been expecting you for how many days already. Ang laki nga ng panghihinayang ko nung akala ko hindi ka na tutuloy" he said in a slightly grim voice. Nag-umpisa na kami maglakad.

I smiled at that. "Well, I am here already. Bakit po ganun? When I took the exam sabi hindi na ako dadaan sa interview with the principal but why am I here? No offense meant" I curiously asked. Dahil kung tama ang pagkakaalala ko, hindi na dapat ako dadaan sa interview dahil na perfect ko ang admission test.

Ngumiti siya. an indication na hindi siya na offend sa sinabi ko "Well, you are referring to the online interview isn't it? Hindi mo naman talaga pagdadaanan yun because you are going to meet me personally. Ikaw pa lang yung pangalawang estudyante na mami-meet ko because you got a perfect score on the admission test.

Magtatanong pa sana ako pero pumasok na kami sa isang building. Tahimik ang paligid and all the doors to the room are closed kaya hindi ko makita ang loob nun. I just silently followed Mr. Gandia hanggang sa makapasok kami ng elevator.

"Bakit nga ba ngayon ka na lang ulit nagparamdam? Did you have second thoughts?" he asked

Umiling ako. "It's not like that. Marami pa po kasi akong inasikaso sa school and sa family ko so it took me some quite time para mai check ang e-mail ko" I half lied

He seems satisfied with my answer. He just smiled then ruffled my hair. I mean, my wig.

Tumunog yung elevator which is a sign na nakarating na kami sa floor na pupuntahan namin. It's sixth floor. The door opened and we stepped out immediately.

"On Monday, dito ka sa building na rin na to pupunta. You will be on the first section so you don't have to worry much. Compared to other sections yun na ang pinaka matino dahil karamihan sa mga yun may laman din katulad mo" he started nung makapasok na kami sa office niya.

Pasimple akong tumingin sa paligid. Everything is on it's place. Napahinto ako when I looked at the wall kung saan may dalawang picture frame na nakasabit. One is a portrait of William Herondale while the other one is their family picture. Dalawa lang pala na anak si Kristel at Blaise.

"Oh yes, that's William Herondale and the other frame is my family. That's my son, Blaise Rafaelo and my daughter Kristel Meridith" pagkuha niya sa atensyon ko.

"You have a wonderful family, sir" I said dahil yun lang ang kaya ng utak ko. Well, I have to look at it na para bang hindi ko kilala ang mga anak niya.

Ngumiti siya ulit. Sa totoo lang, sa tingin ko itong si Mr. Gandia ay mahilig talaga ngumiti. Tanda yung mga laugh lines sa mukha niya. He's also good looking. Makisig siya. Kaya kung may mga nagkakagusto man sa kanya na mas bata sa kanya, hindi na nakakapagtaka yun.

Yet there is also something dangerous about him. Well, he's Blaise's dad so it's no brainer that somewhat they are alike in some ways.

"Yes, I have a loving wife and wonderful son and daughter. The student I was telling you last time na naka perfect din sa exam ay yung panganay ko. You know, I didn't really want him to study here nung mag high school siya. I told him na sa St. Agatha siya mage-enrol pero ayaw niya. He said that he's a Herondale so tama lang na dito siya mag-aral. So we had a deal na kapag na perfect niya ang exam, I will allow him to study here. And he did" he said with hints of proudness.

I nodded solemnly. Atleast now nasagot na ang tanong ko kung paano nakapasok dito si Blaise. Wala naman pala siyang krimen na ginawa o bad record sa previous school niya. Choice niya pala talaga na makapag-aral dito.
